Ive just got a promotion at the same company ive been at for 3 years but in a different area and manager. I also just found that i’m pregnant. I have so many worrying thoughts ….Going into my new role, will i lose it because i am pregnant? Will i get sent back to my old area/old job?? Do i still i have the right to maternity pay because it’s the same company but different boss?? Im happy but so upset!

If you've been with the same company you should still get maternity pay.
They cant just give you a job and take it back because you've found out your pregnant, its discimination, and you ARE covered by pregnancy laws.

Take it in your stride, enjoy your new role and enjoy pregnancy x

I started a new job at a new company when I was pregnant and it was better than fine! My experience is that everyone is very nice to me when I am pregnant and I picked up the job fine. Congratulations!

Congrats on the promotion and the pregnancy :) Trust their faith in you that they want to promote you - and all your current job conditions will still hold since it's the same company, so you should be fine for qualifying for maternity pay (unless you have a new contract in which case check that first). These things happen, and perhaps it's a job you'd prefer to return to after leave anyway?

HR here Grin all of those fears you listed are absolutely illegal, and if any of them happen, they are breaking employment laws surrounding pregnancy and if you are able to prove it, you could (....and should...) take them to tribunal for discrimination.

Didn't want to leave you with any doubt that if your company has half an ounce of common sense, they will absolutely let you continue with you new job!

And congrats! On both counts Grin
