Sharp Shooting Pain 4 Weeks Pregant

I am 4 weeks pregant.

Randomly started having sharp shooting pains in middle of my back.

Is this common?

It could just be one of those random pregnancy things, but I’d check with your local early pregnancy unit if you can.

I had some very unusual (for me) pain around this time in my second pregnancy which turned out to be ectopic - not all cases have the classic symptoms so after my experience I’d always err on the side of caution with unexpected early pregnancy pains, as an untreated ectopic can potentially get very dangerous if left for too long.
