I'm really struggling with hunger! I had the worst night of my life last nt, had a bowl of high protein porridge at 10pm fell asleep around 10.30 and woke at midnight abs starving and so close to passing out could barely make it downstairs felt so weak and heart rate was sky high! I was waking every 2 hrs to eat after this and couldn't seem to stay asleep WTAH??!! Is this normal this soon in as didn't get this at all with first pregnancy one bit?! The hunger is every 2-3 hrs atm it's vile I'm literally fed up of eating now like I'm sick of it already it's been a wk and it's intense the feeling of feelinf so weak and faint soon as my tummy rumbles! Is this normal?? I had my booking appt and urine was fine, blood pressure was low and waiting bloods, my BP was so high last nt tho! 🤯 is it normal to be this starving accompanied by feeling so faint all the time??? And god I'm so sleep I'm knackered already

Sadly yes very normal! Hang in there!

lifeparadox333 · 20/03/2024 08:02

@FlyOnTheWall89 it's vile, I'm struggling so much already and I'm not one to ever give up but this is so intense! I was fine until this kicked in! I've eaten just and I'm still starving! Never known anything like it and I'm so so tired!

I was like this - luckily didn’t wake me up but during the day! Some days I’d eat every hour. I’m not 12+6 and my meals are much more normal 🤣 If I left it and didn’t eat I’d feel so sick

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 20/03/2024 12:32

I had insatiable hunger through the night when I was pregnant with boys (never when I was pregnant with my DD - weird). I kept a bowl of peanuts by my bed. I would wake up (barely), eat a few in the dark, go back to sleep.

Do get the blood pressure and dizziness thing checked though. It’s not unusual in pregnancy and can be totally harmless, but you need to keep an eye on it.

lifeparadox333 · 20/03/2024 15:42

@BC2603 yes, this, the same!!! It's driving me mad!!! 😩

I don’t remember having it in my first pregnancy but I have been starving this time round, 37 weeks now and still the same. Hang in there OP!

lifeparadox333 · 20/03/2024 15:44

@UpToMyElbowsInDiapers I've got some of those too! I've literally bought about every snack there is but i almost feel like only a full Sunday dinner will fill the hole every time it's madness!!! I'm waiting for my iron results as I feel like it might be this if not it might just be this! I had no idea this is how some people felt through pregnancy! It's so hard to keep up with and not enjoying this at all tbh xx

The only thing that helped me was keeping a packet of digestives by the bed or a banana if I was feeling healthier. 12 weeks tomorrow and still require the occasional snack at 2am but it does get better!

Mrsttcno1 · 20/03/2024 15:47

I’m 36 weeks now and I have to say I’ve never been as hungry in my life as I have been while pregnant! I could genuinely just eat and eat and eat, I can’t remember what it feels like to be full!😂

HappierTimesAhead · 20/03/2024 15:48

For a lot of us pregnancy is not enjoyable at all. I was so relieved when my second was born as I really didn't want to be pregnant anymore. I was absolutely exhausted in the first trimester (as in I could have slept all day and night the whole time) and felt sick 24/7. It did all ease off in the second trimester but it is a slog. Congratulations though! You will get through it!

HappierTimesAhead · 20/03/2024 15:49

Forgot to add, in the third trimester I lost my appetite - so weird!

sarahc336 · 20/03/2024 15:57

I had this with dd1, I'd take my lunch with me to work and have eaten it by 10am and would have to go and buy more. It does settle down after the first trimester

lifeparadox333 · 20/03/2024 15:59

@sarahc336 yep I can totally understand that! I feel like I've had all meals for the day before 2pm most days and still need a few more! Sunday dinner size each time I feel like I could easily do! Never known anything like it! Looks like I'll be spending most of this pregnancy in the local carvery pub! 😳

Ha ha ha if baby wants a roast and all 😂😂😂😂

moleeye · 20/03/2024 17:41

Oh god yes

Was absolutely ravenous for the first 12-14 weeks with dd. Ate constantly, constantly! And the tiredness, I would come home from work, eat and pretty much go to bed.
And sleep and eat all weekend!

Completely different with ds, didn't even know I was pregnant until 10 weeks 🤣

confuzzzzzled · 21/03/2024 08:53

I’ve had this since about 5 weeks! I’ll be 10 weeks tomorrow and I’m up at about 3am every single night to go downstairs and raid the snack cupboards. I wake up so hungry it hurts 🤣

lifeparadox333 · 14/06/2024 21:53

I just wanted to update here, it's been a while but it was a missed miscarriage, I had never felt so unwell in all of my life! I don't know why it made me feel how it did but I found out at 8 wks early scan and had it confirmed with the hospital. I ended up having to have a d&c as the tablets just didn't clear it. I'd be interested to know why that pregnancy made me feel so very sick, the hunger was like nothing I'd ever experienced in my life along with the weakness and feeling faint, it was so intense so much so and with the d&c and some bad pain I had after I don't think I could ever put myself through it again. Feeling a lot of mixed emotions as only have 1 child and the worry for her being an only but it scared me feeling like that. I hope you're all getting on well with your pregnancies and I just wondered if anyone had ever heard of this and why I felt how I did, I'm going to post on the main topic about it too to see if anyone can explain it all x
