What were your Papp-A results?

Hey everyone,

I'm just wondering what people's Papp-A results were from their 12 week screening tests as my results came through on badgernet and everything was low risk but my Papp-A result came back as 0.74 MoM. Upon googling this I've seen contrasting information with some sources saying anything above 0.5 is normal but other sources saying anything below 1 is low and I've sent myself into a bit of a panic.

Thank you x

Hey Hun, mine are 0.78. I had one consultant telling me they were low and now about 10 midwives, doctors and consultants tell me no, it's not until it's under 0.4 I believe. Yours are perfectly fine!

I'm now 37+1 with baby girl measuring slightly bigger than expected so definitely no growth issues or anything here x

Yeah definately not low. 0.4 is classified as low but even then it's not particularly.

Yes you are defo no low- I am currently 27 weeks pregnant with low papp-a 0.39 MoM new regulations is anything lower then 0.45 is classed as low, used to be 0.4. Xxx

Mine was 0.4, which was borderline low so I took aspirin during pregnancy. My baby was on the smaller side, but not unusually so - 20th percentile at birth. The measure is done as an average - with 1 being average - 0.4 is 40% of the average value and 1.4 would be 40% over the average.

So your results yes are under average, but 74% of the average it's really a good result

It really doesn't work like that though. It's not a sliding scale, it's either low or normal. A result of more than 0.4 (trusts vary a bit on the threshold) is absolutely nothing to worry about. 1 mom is just an average within a huge variance of normal. Papp a isn't even a reliable indicator of issues when its low, other than the combined screen results. If you decline the screening, you wouldn't be tested for it. Please stop worrying about this. For reference, my first pregnancy was just above the threshold, no issues. Second one is just below, also no issues.
