Hair loss?

Hi all, i'm 18 weeks currently and my hair is falling out really badly. It's been happening since the start of the pregnancy. I've taken alll the supplements I've been prescribed and the extras the doctor gave me when I mentioned hair loss, but its still happening. It's not just a few strands here and there its large clumps, I can't run my hands through my hair without losing 20 or so strands. My parting in my hair is getting wider and more noticeable and my hair is significantly thinner than it was before this pregnancy. I don't know what to do, has anyone else experienced this? I feel like I will be bald by the time babys born...

Didn't want to read and not post.

I wear wigs. My hair is soo thin on top that you can't hide it, I just look like I have a bad comb over when I do.

I lost half my hair postpartum then it has steadily declined over time to the point it is at. ( over 9 years)

I am currently pregnant 12 weeks and was hoping for some thickening , but nothing exactly the same as usual.

What I will say is it looks best when I have used a very light shampoo that doesn't contain silicone, I use the planteur one ( it's green) and wash every morning. The aveda thickening foam is a miracle worker.

Rogaine, nioxin, champo don't work . I spent hundreds on each and stuck them out for 2 years a piece taking photos to track. Didn't do a thing for me.

Keep up on your vitamins it can take several months to build up enough in your system to make a difference.

And finally if worst comes to worst, just get a wig. The modern ones are so good no one can tell and it's fabulous instant perfect hair in 30sec.

Thank you. Noone warned me i'd lose my hair during pregnancy. Everyone said it gets more shiny and thick, its the opposite. It's really brittle as well.

I'm glad wigs are an option but i really want to try and stop it before it comes to that, although not sure i can haha, I'll have a look into the shampoo, thanks xx

Mention it to your midwife and ask for a blood test. Losing hair can be a symptom of anemia.
