Got a ClearBlue 3+ today but still spotting?

I’m 5w1d after a missed miscarriage with a twin pregnancy before Christmas (I had a bleed at 11 weeks and when I was scanned, it showed both embryos had stopped at 6-ish weeks).

I had a really strong test on Wednesday morning (dye stealer on a Clear Blue, plus a strong positive on a cheap pink dye test), and then had a small amount of very light pink discharge when wiping on Wednesday and Thursday. Yesterday and today it’s changed to very light brown but is still there when I wipe, a kind of watery consistency with occasionally a few mucus-y lumps in.

I did a Clearblue weeks indicator today because I had bought it already and thought why not check, and it’s come up 3+ which is bang on for my dates (5w1d).

Is the pink-to-brown discharge a cause for concern? I have a private scan booked for 8 weeks and don’t want to bother the EPU unnecessarily. It’s currently only when wiping, with a couple of drips into the toilet occasionally, and isn’t there every time.

I’ve left a message with the community midwife team too but they may not get back to me till Monday, I don’t think.

its awful having the worry, I do hope it turns out to be nothing. I had a little very pale pink discharge on s tissue after wiping and a tiny spot of brown. I had an early scan thdd we next day as a result of this and it showed no evidence of blood loss coming from the gestational sac, all looked healthy. The nurse assumed the blood might have come from damaged blood vessels in the cervix as it had happened after sex with my partner. Apparently the hormones make the tissue more fragile (I think that’s what I’ve read). I’ve had a little more pale pink discharge since (yesterday evening) but nothing today.

Could you book a GP appointment or ring 111 and get a referral for a scan? Might be a quicker process for you and put your mind at rest.

I hope all is okay.

I had exactly the same at around 7 weeks, it went on for weeks and although it was a little worrying, my midwife said it was really common. The brown colour is also a good thing because that usually means old blood, so it could be remnants of implantation bleed. My little one just turned 11 months so please try not to think the worst. Sending positive vibes x

Thus happened to me about the same time in as you. I had an early miscarriage and fell pregnant again quickly. Worried I went to see my gp who sent me for a scan which detected a strong heart beat. I was told the bleeding can happen when the developing embryo plants itself in the wall of your womb. I went on to have a good pregnancy and delivered at 41weeks.

Try not to worry but for reassurance book an appointment with the midwife Monday to see if they can send you for a scan. Wishing everything is well for you and baby

Thank you all so much for your replies. It’s just the unknown, isn’t it? I was so pleased to be pregnant again soon after the MMC and just thought the miscarriage was such bad luck and it wouldn’t happen to us again, but now I’m not so sure 😔

The spotting seems to have a pinker tinge this evening, it’s still not coming out onto a pad but is there on wiping.

I’ve read so so many threads over the past couple of days trying to work out which way this will go.

I’ll call the midwife team or EPU on Monday to get a scan appointment. So so dreading another miscarriage, although this time it’s earlier and I’ve spotted almost since getting a BFP 😔

Do you think it’s worth asking for progesterone? The Tommy’s study suggests I would qualify for it with bleeding plus having had a miscarriage already.
