Good news needed - concerned I might be miscarrying.

I’m approx. 6w5d with my first pregnancy. On Wednesday I had an early internal scan, the baby was in the right place and had a little fluttery heartbeat.

However yesterday I had some light pink colour when I wipe, which today has bern more brown with a few little stringy brown bits. I’ve also had some cramping and a little lower back pain and feel like my symptoms such as tiredness isn’t as bad as it was and I’m not sure my boobs feel as tender as they did (I haven’t really had any nausea etc yet).

has anyone experienced this and had a good outcome? I’m so so worried that I may be miscarrying but the EPU said not to worry unless I had red period-like bleeding?

Any good stories or advice would be so appreciated - feeling really alone and overwhelmed at the moment.

thanks so much 🩷

I’m 7w3d and I’ve been spotting brown/pink for the last 2 weeks and have had a scan yesterday and saw baby and heartbeat. They couldn’t see any cause for my spotting. They said the same to me - only concerning if bright red/clotty/enough to fill a pad. They should really offer you another scan x

vaginal ultrasounds can cause bleeding for the couple days after as it irritates cervix
hopefully that’s the cause

Transvaginal ultrasounds can cause spotting so it could be an irritated cervix!
I had spotting at 5-6 weeks and then again at 8-9 weeks. I was incredibly worried about miscarrying and Epu said the same to me, to phone back if the cramping got worse or the bleeding became heavier or red. I then was booked in for a scan after the second lots of bleeding- all turned out well baby is now sleeping in the cot!

I’m so glad everything was okay with your scan! I’m just trying to rest up and pray that it stops soon. Thank you so much! x

That’s so great to hear! I really do hope it is irritation from the scan!

Thank you and congratulations on your baby! 😊

I had bleeding (brown and red), cramps and diminished symptoms all at once in my first trimester - all was well! Turned out the bleeding was from a cervical ectropion and the cramps were just normal uterus stretching cramps. Symptoms always come and go too. Baby is now two months old. Fingers crossed for you xx

thank you so much! It seems like the spotting is calming down but that’s just made me worry about my loss of symptoms! I didn’t realize how anxious the first trimester could be!

thank you so much for sharing 💗
