Bloody show and back pain

I'm 40 weeks pregnant and had a sweep yesterday evening. This morning I have had my bloody show and increasingly bad back pain. Lots of pressure when moving. Is this the start of labour? Has anybody experienced something similar before ?STM induced on first!

Yes that sounds like the start of labour! I was induced with gels, but that is how my labour started. My baby was back to back, maybe that's the case with yours?

How long did you have the back pain before contractions started. Iv been have false contractions for weeks so haven't quiet worked out if I'm having any proper ones but the back pain is intense!!!! Just unsure when to make my way to hospital 🙈

@Ted121 only about 3/4 hours. The pressure just got stronger and stronger before the contractions kicked in. Do you have a TENS machine? I found that helped a lot. Really exciting times for you! Hope baby comes swiftly for you now.
