Clearblue Digital - How Many Weeks?

Hi, looking for some advice/reassurance if possible. I’m currently 21dpo and have been testing positive since 7dpo. I’ve used the clearblue digital how many weeks and 2 weeks ago I got a 1-2 weeks result, last Monday it read 2-3 weeks, and today I’ve had 2-3 weeks again. I was expecting to see 3+ weeks today.

I’m super anxious as had a miscarriage at 10 weeks in August and a chemical pregnancy at Xmas so feel like I’m expecting the worst.

Could it be a sign that things aren’t progressing? Does annyone have experience with the ‘How Many Weeks’ tests and their accuracy?

Thanks x

They are notoriously innacurate. So many posts about it. After multiple mc I tried to use them for reassurance too, I still got 2-3 weeks at nearly 6 weeks and assumed things were not right as a result. A HCG draw the next day showed super high results, well over the reported threshold for a 3+ and I'm now at term so clearly was all fine. HCG is only really helpful when tested via blood to check the actual rise, theres a very wide range for what can be considered viable so it can take allot longer than expected for the weeks indicator tests to tick over. I'd honestly save yourself any further anxiety and not give them a second thought.

@Chasingbaby2 Thank you for replying….and congratulations!! Very reassuring to know that you had the same result and everything was fine. Their website claims they’re 93% accurate which added to my worry. Out of curiosity, (if you don’t mind me asking) did you go for an early scan for reassurance? Thanks again and I hope baby doesn’t keep you waiting too long to meet him/her!xx

It might be 93% accuracy at detecting the week, eventually... But yeah there's no way you can rely on them to track progression as accurately as you are looking for. I don't know how they are still on the shelf to be honest. Yes I was having early scans, some private and some were with my recurrant miscarriage consultant under the NHS. 6 weeks is a good milestone to aim for, you might even get a heartbeat (but bear in mind that plenty of people don't) With a history of loss, the anxiety is going to be there sorry to say, it gets easier as you get past each milestone but I'd recommend getting some coping strategies on board (meditation, acupuncture and reflexology have all helped me). Thankyou for your kind words, and best of luck with your pregnancy too! Xx

@Chasingbaby2 Thank you. Think I need to step away from the tests, I’ll be 6 weeks tomorrow and had another 2-3 weeks this morning 🤦🏻‍♀️ May contact the GP to see if I could maybe get a blood test due to my history. I booked an early scan for Thursday and then cancelled it thinking it would make it harder if anything went wrong. I went for 2 early scans which the baby I miscarried and think seeing the heartbeat and it being so healthy made the loss harder.
Will take your advice and look into some relaxation and coping strategies….I think I’ll drive myself insane other wise.
Thank you for taking the time to reply to me xxx

I never managed to get 3+ weeks even though an actual blood test drawn on the same day showed I was well over the supposed threshold for it to show up! Tons of threads on here about it. Don’t worry about it! I panicked for no reason.

EnfysB · 12/03/2024 17:47

@Charlie626 Thanks for the reassurance. I’ve just had a look through historical threads, as you mentioned it seems to be quite common. I’m just over thinking everything because of what’s happened previously. Thanks again xx

I think it’s common for some people not to get the 3+ weeks. Sadly they’ve been a reliable indicator for miscarriages for me, so I will continue with them! I do get early scans now on the NHS though, so I don’t have to wait too long.

I was obsessed with these tests at the start of my pregnancy and they kept sending me into melt down every time I got
the wrong weeks as a result. I got 2-3 and 3+ from the same urine at one point. I’m 29 weeks pregnant now and all is fine.
