Hi, just wanted to be able to talk to someone, I went to the toilet this morning and was bleeding…I’m 9 weeks pregnant. Had very light dark brown/ light pink blood after a wee when I wipe and light cramps. Went to walk in centre and they checked me out for infections and have booked me in for appointment at early pregnancy unit tomorrow afternoon, I’m fearing for the worst 😥 it took 8 months to get pregnant and I’ve been so excited…first pregnancy. I can’t stop crying and the wait to go to the hospital is unbearable. Has anyone also been through this?

So sorry you're going through this, I've had bleeding in all of my pregnancies so far. One ended in miscarriage, one resulted in my son and I'm currently 10 weeks, with spotting since 6 weeks. I've had 2 scans and baby is fine. It's not always bad news and the case for me is it's been good news more often than it's been bad! However I know how worrying it is and I still panic everytime I see it. Good luck for tomorrow 🤞

I'm so sorry to hear this, I understand your fear as I started bleeding at about two months with my first (and only) pregnancy.

I had a call from an out of hours midwife who assured me all would be fine, but if the light bleeding continued or got heavier, to call my local EPU.

Unfortunately, my bleeding continued, I called our EPU about a week later and was refused a scan or any assistance, and I lost the baby at home, I bled for two months.

You are in good hands as you've been scanned, I believe many women experience bleeding, but there's no way of knowing either way sometimes.

I honestly hope your story has a beautiful ending, and please ensure you push for assistance at every stage xxx

@Lijay thank you, my mum had bleeding with one pregnancy and intense pains when she was pregnant with me, and also had 2 miscarriages, she has said I should just try to relax until my appointment tomorrow. I know spotting is common early on but it was just so upsetting and scary to see and I’m so worried it will get worse over night. Thank you xx
@Westsussex I am so so sorry that happened to you 😢 thank you for your kind words xxx

@Bobbieiris I'm so sorry you're going through this. Any sight of bleeding is so anxiety-inducing. I'm another for whom this has gone both ways. Unfortunately I had a MMC last year. Found out at 11+4 that baby had stopped developing a month earlier. The only indication had been some minor spotting which got a bit more in the week I found out and I requested scan (my official 12wk one was due closer to 14wks so they agreed to an early one).

I'm very lucky to be currently pregnant again - I'll be 18wks tomorrow. I had mild spotting at 8 and 11 weeks, and then a slightly heavier bleed with two small clots at 14wks. Obviously went down dark paths in my mind every time but thankfully baby has been absolutely fine and they've never found an obvious cause for the bleeds/spotting.

Obviously nothing any of us can say is going to ease your fears ahead of the scan - and those nerves going in are just horrible. But you will get through. It's great you've been able to talk to your mum about it, and that she's experienced similar in her own pregnancies. Having good support around you is so important. I'm keeping everything crossed for you. Lots of women experience bleeding and go on to have healthy babies 💗

@SnookyPook thank you, I’m so sorry you had a loss but so good to hear you are pregnant again ❤️ I know in these cases it can go either way and the whole first trimester is so unpredictable, it’s just been so hard trying to keep my mind of it all day, my boyfriend booked the whole day off work to be with me so feeling quite bad about that. Thank you xxx

@Lijay @SnookyPook @Westsussex went for scan yesterday afternoon and found out I have two healthy babies in there! Everything was fine and the nurse said it was nothing to worry about…I was in shock because I had expected the worst! Thank you for your kind words, it really helped ❤️❤️
