“Confirmed” nub theories

Guys, despite starting this pregnancy saying I would keep it a surprise, I’m now DYING to know what we’re having (and it’ll be confirmed within the next week) so naturally I’m looking up nub theories and comparing them to my scan 🤪 however, I’m finding on SO MANY mumsnet threads that aren’t updated and have left people hanging. SOOO. I thought, if anyone wanted to, would you share your 12-14 week scans which show a nub, and what the confirmed gender was?

Hopefully this’ll help anyone in future too who was doing some research and noseying like myself 🤣

I posted my pic to a Facebook group and the comments all agreed they thoughts girl. I have just had a 16 week scan which also confirmed (90% sure) girl, so seemed to work for my 12 week scan photo. But it was a very clear photo, much clearer than with my previous two children.

It is, I was 12+5 at that point. Everyone said that by 12+4ish, a clear image should be 99% accurate, but in the few days before, there is still time for things to change. Which I didnt know, but luckily had to have my 12 week scan a tad late, so the image more supposedly more reliable and easier to read.

I am here to update the thread! So delighted to confirm that we do indeed have a baby girl 💕

Hey lovely! You have literally explained me these last few weeks 😂 “very recent and intensive nub theory researching” I’ve never joined so many Facebook groups and made so many google searches! I find it so fascinating now I know about it.
With yours, I initially though girl because that first picture looks parallel and with a line “underneath” which suggests girl, but in that second photo I can see it rising slightly 🤔 that suggests boy but also the line underneath makes me question that. Ahhh!! I’m so torn.

I’m going to say boy. But not with the ultimate confidence!

Have you posted in any of the nub theory facebooks? A lot of them allow you to post anonymously so you can get some really good feedback on there. I’ve seen some be wrong though with ones that look like there’s a slight rise, so I’m truly on the fence with yours 😂🤍 Can you pls keep us updated? I’m fully invested now

I@Cloudyapple93 this whole thread is literally me 🤣! I never knew the meaning of the nub theory until I became obsessed with knowing what my gender my second baby will be and now I feel like I fully understand it! 🤣! Definitely going to be another boy..I've uploaded it to so many different sites asking if anyone thinks there is any chance it could possibly be a girl..all say most definitely not..🤣!
How many boys did you have before a girl? I think everyone loves the thought of a daughter and it is so wonderful but I think I'm going to have to draw the line at two boys!

I’m also with you on being impatient! I have a gender scan in 2 weeks and literally am counting the days! I’ve looked at the nub theory but I’m so confused. Any help or ideas?

Oh God I'm really rubbish at it and have no idea sorry! The only reason I could guess my scan is because you can very clearly see the nub 🤣! There's lots of groups on Facebook which will have a guess, post it on there and see what they say! Do you think boy or girl?!

@Cloudyapple93 yes so this will be my second! Oh I am 99.9999% sure it is a boy, I'll upload the scan picture and once you see that nub ..you're going to totally agree with me! If it's a girl..I'll eat my own hat 🤣!

Oh God I feel you, pregnant is shattering isn't it, I am SO tired, and SO grumpy! Ah congratulations on a girl!! I did read that if you have 2 of the same sex then the chances of the third being the same is 75%! That's lovely though and atleast she'll have big brothers to look after her! When are you due?

Yeah there’s still time for it to change at 11 weeks. I think they say from 12+5 is the most accurate so don’t quote me! I’ll stick with boy though x
