Pregnancy sickness + acid reflux, help appreciated.

I'm 8 weeks pregnant with my first child, and since 6 weeks have had awful constant nausea, some vomitting and constant acid reflux symptoms (regurgitating acid like stuff in my mouth, pain and belching). It's worse in the morning and at night time and i'm frankly exhausted. I have a history of acid reflux.

My GP has given me the following - 20mg omeprazole to take in the morning and cyclizine up to 3 times a day. I'm also trying my best to stomach gaviscon chewable tablets.

I would say on balance the symptoms are a bit better but i'm still really struggling. I'm not being sick anymore but the constant nausea is still there, which in a way feels worse. I am getting a bit of a break with the cyclizine but it is very short lived, I find the effects are wearing off before I am able to take another. The acid reflux symptoms have been hardly impacted.

I have had a UTI since finding out I was pregnant and am on my third course of antibiotics which probably hasn't helped my stomach at all.

Could anyone give me any advice, particularly around what anti sickness measures worked for them.

Feeling pretty lost right now.

Try the gaviscon extra tablets I've been taking them the whole way through much better than just regular gaviscon and are safe to take. No help with the nausea nothing helped with mine I had to wait for it to pass try not let yourself get too hungry otherwise you will feel twice as sick x

Go back to your GP if you're still struggling there's loads of different anti sickness meds you could try. Speak to Pregnancy Sickness Support charity for advice and support if needed.

I'm taking Xonvea now and this is my third pregnancy and although I've still got significant symptoms, I had HG in my previous two pregnancies so this is the best I've ever been still. I'm 8 weeks too and been taking it since soon after I got my positive test, pre-emptively. I also take omeprazole but was already taking that.

Hey OP. I was never sick early on but had nausea and the only thing that helped was ice lollies. Hopefully you find something that helps you soon
