Hydronephrosis?? Back pain

Hi all
I'm currently 24w and I've been getting intermittent right sided back pain since about 15 weeks just below my ribs. It lasts a few mins each time but it can get really painful when it happens, it makes me panic a bit because pain is about 7/10. It's a dull ache pain which intensifies every few minutes like a spasm.

I did tell midwife when it first happened, she suggested sciatica. I'd recently seen her and urine sample was clear so she wasn't concerned.
I can go days without it happening so it's been difficult trying to pinpoint what's causing it.

I did my own research and thought it could be pelvic pain (I do have back and hip issues as well) so have been careful to monitor my posture etc. But I've recently noticed it tends to happen after I've drank a lot of water, and I get an urgent need to pass urine- I pass a lot- then need to go again 5 mins later. So I'm thinking it could be an issue with my kidney.

I've read hydronephrosis is quite common in pregnancy and tends to affect the right kidney more.

Has anyone else been through this and can offer advice please? How do I go about getting this diagnosed? There's no routine GP appointments at my practice for weeks and I'm not sure it warrants an urgent same day appointment. I see my midwife next week but I'm worried she will wonder why I've left it to her to sort?
I know treatment options are probably limited but at least it will give me an answer to what the pain is
