5 weeks and anxious, who’s with me?

5 weeks pregnant with my first with PCOS. I thought conception was the anxiety inducing bit but wow I didn’t factor in how anxious I would feel once I’d conceived.

Current symptoms are slightly sore boobs and the occasional cramp. Which of course every time I think is it ectopic?! Also worried about low progesterone as I have PCOS but don’t think they prescribe it in the UK for your first pregnancy. Have taken two tests (14 and 16 dpo) but still struggling to believe I’m pregnant. Don’t want to keep stress testing though!

Anyone else feeling similar or can offer any advice? Please be nice 🤍

Not sure I have much advice but didn’t want to read and run! I am 7 weeks with my first, a much wanted baby who we had been trying for for over a year, and so I totally get the anxiety thing - these early stages are so hard! I had an early reassurance scan which I found really helpful so you could potentially look into one of those to put your mind at ease, particularly if you are worried about ectopic? For now though I guess just try and celebrate being pregnant 🙏

I feel the same! Hard to believe it's real / doesn't feel real... period was due yesterday and last night I couldn't sleep as I was anxious it would start in the night and be well... a mess 😂. Then 6am I was like ffs I'll just do a test... instantly positive but I wasn't convinced as I'd splashed on the test window... so off to get a digital at 10am... pregnant 2-3 weeks (so actually 4-5 weeks pregnant) but I still don't really believe it?!? Or believe it will stick if it is real 🙈 our minds are crazy!! Hope you're doing okay 🥰

Congratulations ladies!
I’m in the same boat …. 5 weeks and 4 days and the anxiety is draining me! Had a miscarriage at 10 weeks and a chemical pregnancy prior to this so feel like I’m just expecting the worst again. Booked an early scan for Thursday to hopefully give me peace of mind. I’m having shooting pains in one side of my tummy and paranoid it’s ectopic. I’m constantly checking if I’m bleeding and testing several times a day…I know I need to relax because I can’t change the outcome but I just can’t 🤦🏻‍♀️

Very normal, but remember there’s nothing you can do, or not do. Have a private scan once you’re 8 weeks, if you think it’ll help as it would rule out ectopic. I think progesterone is only prescribed if you have bleeding and you’ve had a miscarriage before.

Thanks all for replying, nice to know I’m not alone but sorry you’re feeling like this too. I have stopped testing and actually tried to keep myself busy/off MN as even though the positive stories help, it makes me a little bit more anxious every time I read a negative story.

As @Rosesanddaisies1 said, there’s nothing we can do that will change the outcome so I am going to try my best to enjoy it.

I have booked for an early scan in 2 weeks, fingers crossed all is well. Keep me posted with all your journeys 🤍

I was exactly the same at 5 weeks and had one sided pain too. Had a private scan at 8 weeks which helped enormously. I'm 10 weeks now and it's only just started to dawn on me that all that anxiety was for nothing and I wish I'd just enjoyed it all more!

I just got my BFP today - baby no 2. I think I’m about 5 weeks but my cycle has been irregular over the last few months so it’s hard to know. Very anxious - I want all the symptoms even though I know they can be so hard to deal with. It feels like such a long wait for the 12 week scan. I’ve also got really sore boobs but that’s it - I was sure my period was coming as a result
