Hey all!

hope everyone is doing ok :)

I have my 20 week anomaly scan in 2 weeks but I’m so anxious waiting for it and worried something will be wrong ☹️

we went for a private scan at 15/16 weeks for gender and I asked if everything looked ok and she said yes but at the beginning did say it’s too early for any anomaly’s!

should I be reassured or not?

anyone else feeling the same?

thanks

I have my 20 week scan tomorrow I am so anxious about it . I had a private sexing scan at 16 weeks they said everything look good but they don’t look as in detail that they do at the 20’week scan when the baby is bigger and more developed .

I felt exactly the same have had terrible anxiety (very long awaited for pregnancy) cried at the gender scan as soon as I saw the heartbeat. The 20 week scan is nerve wracking but if you have had no issues so far the chances are everything will be fine. It's rare for catastrophic anomalies to be identified and if you tell them you are anxious they will make an effort to be extra reassuring.
We had 3 20 week scans because they thought the baby had a club foot (she doesn't) at each one they went through every body part even though it had already been done. I found it reassuring that they were very thorough and talked us through what they were seeing.
Good luck and try to look forward to seeing your baby wriggling around on the screen :)

I’ve got a private sexing/well-being scan on Sunday and my 20 week scan is three weeks today. I’m a bag of nerves about both as well and am desperate to see a heartbeat and be told everything is okay. I haven’t felt any movement yet (I’m only 17 weeks but it’s my second so was sort of hoping to feel something by now). Once I feel the flutters, I know I’ll feel better. Not very helpful maybe but just letting you know you’re definitely not alone - it’s a happy but very worrying time.
