I was just making myself breakfast and I felt damp, I checked and had a lot of water, not my first baby but he was born in the sack so I haven’t experienced water breaking

Looks just like discharge to me. Waters are clear and odourless.. Any color in waters needs checked out fyi...

When my waters broke it had a really distinct smell, almost sweet

AmyPond96 · 06/03/2024 09:47

Well, second baby I thought I had extra discharge towards the end of pregnancy but when my contractions started and I was examined, my waters had gone, so I'd get it checked. I never had plants that wet. First time was an obvious flood.

Ring to ask for midwife advice OP. Could just be discharge but best to check for sure.

If not sure collect it and go in for it to be checked. The midwives have a test stick they use to see if it's waters. It's important as if it is waters and labour doesn't start there's a high risk of infection. I had to stay in with my first as waters went more than 24 hours before active labour / birth. Good luck!
