Hey all looking for some advice. To start, a bit of background to bring you up to scratch on my situation.

on Dec 28th we sadly found out at our 12 week scan I had a missed miscarriage. Started to pass naturally on the 8th jan and had surgical management on the 11th jan.

we unexpectedly fell very quickly and fast forward to now I am 6 weeks and 2 days. NHS booked me in for a viability scan on the 28th Feb. All in the right place.

Two days after my vaginal scan I started bleeding brown discharge which sent me into panic mode knowing I could be MC again. Went to A&E and they said potential MC or threatened MC until my results come back. HCG 40,000 and progesterone 40.

They have given me progesterone pressies to start this evening and scan booked in for next week.

brown blood/discharge over the last 5 days hasn’t got heavier or lighter or changed colour. Only when I wipe.

has anyone else experienced this type of suituation that could provide insight to your outcome? I’m hopeful as nurse said it more positive than negative as it’s been a good few days and no further development but nervous of what’s going on.

thank you x

If it's brown usually nothing concerning, did they mention a haemotoma at your scan at all? They are quite common and can cause some brown bleeding. It's a good sign that it's not getting worse, all my mc have progressed to red within a day or so. Also just be aware that sometimes progesterone can cause a bit of spotting too. It's a minefield of anxiety isn't it. Got my fingers crossed for you that this turns out well x

Don’t be alarmed by the terminology threatened miscarriage that’s just what they use for any bleeding in pregnancy.

most women have some form of spotting or bleeding. Can be implantation bleeding or basically the cervix getting a bit irritated and shedding a few cells. That’s what it sounds like in your case, as it’s brown which means old and not getting heavier. The amount will look more when you wipe as it’s mixed with the other fluids from that area
