Baby kicks or gas

I've been feeing sometimes like little thuds, however.. I'm confused if these are the baby or gas. I do have ibs. My partner has been able to feel it sometimes. Sometimes it's subtle deep and sometimes it's definitely feeling like thuds hitting my belly.
What confused me sometimes I notice just before I feel a thud ill hear a rumble in my tummy.
I also notice just before they happen I often feel my pulse in my stomach exactly above where these happen
These thuds aren't anything I've felt before pregnancy and only started 18w. Have an anterior placenta. Now 21 weeks. Any ideas?
I've booked a private scan this weekend as my pet jumped across the sofa onto my bump and it pounded it. I've had cramping now 3 days and dont notice the little pulling sensations i used to have which i thought was baby so ive been worried. I want to check is baby OK. Do you think this could be baby or gas or something else. Would it make taps like that. I know during pregnancy everything is squished so could it just be a result of that, that my intestines or Bowes pop and tap against me

Sorry I meant posterior placenta to the back

It definitely could be baby that you’re feeling! I have a posterior placenta this time (2nd pregnancy) and I first felt movement at 14 weeks, though they were few and far between for a few weeks after that. Hope all goes well with your scan, the cramping you’ve mentioned could be your body stretching to accommodate a growing baby.

I have IBS and often had the rumble and gas (thud) which is just intestinal. but in pregnancy 1st and 2nd the difference was feeling a wave and wriggle sensation and a little tap. Like a bag of worms or a snake. But the rumble and thud for me was just IBS/Gas.

My DH felt his first kick at 18 weeks with DS 1 and today 20weeks with DC2. It is not proceeded by gas or rumbling. Just a wave like a soosh sensation and then a tap.

You can probably find out during the uktraouns if baby is active and you have the same sensation you can confirm it is baby and not gas.

@OopsieeDaisy I hope its just stretching
. Just concerning as only started after my bump took a hit. It's eased off now tho and just praying baby is ok and those little things I'm feeling is baby

I had an anterior placenta and when baby was moving at that stage it felt a lot like gas.

aside from that though, you could have called midwives and told them you were concerned about change in baby’s movements and I reckon they would have seen you, rather than you paying for a private scan.

hope all is ok

@Justsomethoughts I did phone midwives , I had to chase them through 3 different lines and when I spoke to them they didn't seem at all interested despite me saying I had alot of cramping and was stressed. Was just told to watch out for symptoms like bleeding but it's still left me anxious as I've had a mmc in past and know loss isn't always accompanied by bleeding. Feels crap having to fork out £80 for the scan but I'd probably drive myself mental not knowing I didn't

Goodness me I’m really surprised they didn’t get you in. Don’t blame you at all getting the scan. Hope all is ok and it gives you reassurance.
