TTC anxiety - any advice?

Hi all,

Bit nervous posting but I feel very hormonal and very alone so I thought it was best to reach out. I am 33 and my partner and I first tried for a baby July 2023. We got pregnant the first month but it turned out to be ectopic. I had a laproscopy to remove the pregnancy and my tube. The consultant said that they saw some endometriosis tissue during surgery but nothing to concern her and to just crack on. She said that my other tube looked outwardly healthy (but of course that is just outwardly).

We have been trying for 4 months and I just came on my period. I know that this is probably the hormones talking but every month I have got my period sends me into a spiral.

I am worried about my age, my one tube, endometriosis, never falling pregnant again. Everything. And that is before I even get pregnant and turn to worrying about ectopics and miscarriages.

Has anyone been through something similar? Thank you in advance. x

I haven’t been in the same situation exactly as you but just wanted to say I fully understand what a horrible emotional rollercoaster ttc is - I was ttc my first for 15 months or so which I know isn’t that long compared to lots of other people but I found going 1 year + without ever seeing a bfp really, really hard. You’re still young and have got age on your side, and the fact you have got pregnant before is encouraging, although I totally understand why you’re feeling anxious. All I can say is be kind to yourself, give yourself time, but also if you feel like in your gut something is wrong go to the doctors and advocate for yourself - I got placed in the unexplained category and was told just to go away and wait til we were ready for ivf but I got a second opinion and found a doctor who was willing to give me progesterone (which I always suspected was my issue) and I got my first ever bfp. Sending lots of luck and baby dust to you 🤞

@KStar1404 just wanted to say thank you so much for this. I’ve felt really lost and just seeing a nice message has made me feel lighter. On your advice I’ve booked a telephone call with the doctor to push for some advice, like whether they can test my other tube to make sure it’s not blocked. And I’ll make sure to push for it, as I’m often a bit too accommodating when people push back…!

So happy to hear that after you did the same, you were listened to and got a positive test - and I’m sorry you tried for what I imagine felt like forever. X
