hi all,

so i went to epas on saturday morning 6+2 due to pain in my left side, they scanned me and it showed an “empty sac” they didn’t 100% confirm it was the gestational sac but they were fairly confident, they put a ? by yolk sac as they were not sure if they saw it or not (i didn’t see it) they took bloods and said they were treating it as pregnancy of unknown location for now as they couldn’t be sure either way, my HGC came back at 10160 and they said the would have liked to have seen more on the scan at that level but repeat in 48 hours and see if it’s rises 60% so i had another blood test yesterday and just had the results of 15074 so it hasn’t gone up 60% and they want me to go for another scan tomorrow afternoon as they are concerned about an ectopic.

does anyone have similar stories? how did they pan out?

im confident its not ectopic but could be a blighted ovum maybe? or maybe just normal but im doubtful about that.

any help would be appreciated! x

why are you confident it’s not an ectopic if medical professionals are concerned it is?

because we saw the gestational sac in my uterus, i don’t think they are really concerned that it is its more they just want to 100% rule it out rather than 99% if that makes sense x

I'm not sure about the sack or levels sorry, but I had sharp left sided pain with my second and third which were both healthy pregnancies.
Also with my second I must have implanted very late or the process was somehow slower for another reason, as I was only 11+2 when I expected him to be 12+5. Hopefully it's a similar reason for yours.

yes i has similar with my first son but not with my second so i didnt think to much to the pain really its more the scan and HCG readings that are causing the stress x
