Hey all, this has probably been posted a lot but I’m exhausted from the worrying through lots of posts, so apologies for the repetition.
background story:
I am 31w 5d pregnant with a little girl, she was conceived two weeks after a miscarriage, so I was anxious from the start. At 12w I had bloods done, then had to have them repeated, and I had low Papp-a levels, think it was 0.27, so pretty low. At both the 12 and 20w scans she measured just a tiny bit below the 50th percentile in length etc. I had the additional scan at 21w in fetal medicine, where all the blood flows were fine and healthy, this was reassuring. All things progressed normally for a while.
I had my 28w midwife appointment, and all was fine then, bump measured at 28cm, pretty average. Skip forward 3 weeks for my 31w midwife appointment and my bump still measured 28cm. I had a growth scan the next day and baby was measuring <10th percentile line for EFW, and below the 5th for femur length. But head was average and abdomen a bit on the small side. They checked blood flows and all ok again. I have an appointment with fetal medicine tomorrow, and another scan in two weeks, which will tell us more.
I am just baffled at how she can be fine on two scans, and bump a good size, then all of a sudden not. My husband is 5ft 6, and so am I, but his mum is really short too, less than 5ft, so maybe she’s got his genes there? But it just seems odd how she’d go from being average to this small. She is very wiggly though, so that’s very comforting!
i guess I’m just wondering if anyone else has experienced the same… very confusing and anxious times!
