Age 41. Four cycles. Baby healthy and pregnancy uneventful.

Jelliclecats · 24/02/2024 19:54

Miscarried at 16 weeks aged 37, four months later aged 38 fell pregnant with DD…aged 40 fell pregnant with DD after only one month…then didn’t get pregnant again at all.

QueSyrahSyrah · 24/02/2024 19:55

Circa 3 years although only the first half of that was 'trying' in terms of planning DTD around dates, taking temperature etc. The second half was just normal life but with no contraception.

Started just before I turned 37 and conceived just before I turned 40.

NewmummyJ · 24/02/2024 19:55

First was a surprise at 36... 2nd was 1st cycle at 39- overweight and still breastfeeding!

Sara1988 · 24/02/2024 19:59

I'm 35. Got pregnant on first attempt. We really had in our mind it would take ages because so many people had made comments about it being harder after 35. I'm 8 weeks today.

KittyFantastica · 24/02/2024 20:02

35, first month trying last month. Sadly, it ended in an early loss, however I am already pregnant again. We conceived 17 days after my chemical started.

I don't know how usual this is, but we were shocked both times.

Meryemg · 24/02/2024 20:02

Wow it sounds like so many of you fell quite quickly

Came off the pill in November 2019 aged 38. Had a positive pregnancy test in February 2020. So I'd say two cycles?

Welshgal85 · 24/02/2024 20:13

Started trying when I was 37, fell pregnant about 9 months later but had a miscarriage. 4 months later fell pregnant again aged 38 and I’m 18 weeks now 😊

If you’re concerned you could go to the GP for tests? I went to mine and they did lots of bloods and all came back okay and DP had tests too. It helped take a bit of pressure off for us.

Good luck! ❤️

Aged 37 the first time, pregnant the second cycle. Aged 45 the second time around. Pregnant first cycle. We did use Preseed though X

Glitterb · 24/02/2024 20:19

35, came off the pill last Christmas and had no period. Baby was born October, uneventful pregnancy and healthy baby!

MrsSamR · 24/02/2024 20:22

I got pregnant on my 2nd cycle at 36 with my second, had her at 37 9 months later. She's perfect.

Rubyrubyrubyruby123 · 24/02/2024 20:23

First cycle

EcoCustard · 24/02/2024 20:24

I conceived Dc 4 at 38 after DH had, had a vasectomy 🙈. Dc1-Dc4 all conceived from aged 33-38 very quickly. One very surprising pregnancy prior to that at 32 which resulted in a loss, I had been on the pill for many years. Conceived Dc1 weeks after surgery which was planned. I realise I was very lucky.

MujeresLibres · 24/02/2024 20:38

I didn't get pregnant through 3 cycles of IVF, after we'd been trying for 3 years. I have blocked/partially removed tubes. We took a break while I waited for an ovarian cyst to resolve (endometriosis too) and, amazingly, I fell pregnant naturally at 35, delivering when I was 36. Best of luck.

YouJustDoYou · 24/02/2024 20:38

4 years.

MujeresLibres · 24/02/2024 20:39

Apart from my one successful delivery, I don't think I even had so much as a chemical pregnancy.

CluelessInLondon · 24/02/2024 21:07

Started trying just after I turned 37, conceived on the fourth cycle but unfortunately had a loss at 9 weeks. Conceived again on the third cycle trying after the loss and am now 8+3 and hoping this one sticks. I had been planning to give it 6 months and then see the GP for tests if nothing was happening, but obviously haven't needed to. Good luck!

Meryemg · 25/02/2024 06:10

Congratulations to all expecting lots of sticky healthy vibes your way. I did see a Dr around 3 cycles ago for a day 3 hormone test run and she emailed results and said all within normal keep trying.

Have you had a day 21 hormone test to check if you are actually ovulating though? I wasnt. My day 3 results looked ok but obviously day 21 results were not.

35yrs - DD1 - around 2yrs of ttc and she was born after fertility treatment (letrozole to induce ovulation)

37yrs - currently 34weeks pregnant with DC2. Fell pregnant naturally after 8 cycles ttc, which was a complete surprise as we were waiting to do more letrozole treatment.

Marchbug · 25/02/2024 06:50

34/35 6 months (chemical after 3)
36 first time still BF
39/40 6 months then a break and then first month sadly resulted in miscarriage
41 2 months, now 15 weeks

I will say, the times it has been quicker, I've been a bit slimmer and doing some exercise, only anecdotal but I definitely think made a difference

No that's interesting though my dr hasen't mentioned anymore tests when in the office she just said via ultrasound she can see that an egg has been released etc and day 3 was fine.

I came off the pill at the end of August and we started trying straight away. I’d say it took a couple of months for my cycle to settle so it was hard to track what was happening at that point, but normal-ish cycles from October onwards and got my positive test in the middle of January, suggesting I conceived at the end of December/beginning of Jan.

A friend of mine who is the same age took 3 years and is due in May (so she was 33 when they started ttc), and another friend took 7 years and has just had her healthy baby boy.

Mumoftwo2022 · 25/02/2024 08:10

I was 35 when conceived my second and happened first cycle

getoutofmytree · 25/02/2024 08:26

A relation is 35 and they were trying for approx 2 years. The baby is due very soon!
