So I’ve got my 4D scan next week and we have no childcare so I was just wondering has anyone else taken their 2 year old to a private scan with them?

how did they behave or how did you distract them?

Is two year old still in a pram, some snacks perhaps.

Im really hoping his fave snacks help distract him🤞🏼

Is anyone else going with you?

Does he watch videos on your phone? Mine would be quiet for a decent length of time on my phone as long as they'd been doing other stuff beforehand. Probably not a guarantee though as a scan is quite interesting and could also be worrying for them if they're that type. Mine wouldn't like it I don't think.

Can you not rearrange it for a time when you can have someone watch him?

I took my 2.5 yr old and the nurse was great with her. They didn’t really understand obviously and just wanted to play when the sonographer was trying to tell me stuff!

Yes my husband is! But obviously don’t want him to miss out x

Unfortunately not, my mum was supposed to be having him but somethings come up with her work and it’s too late to reschedule :(

Hmm that’s good to know thank you! I’m just praying he doesn’t tantrum🤣 luckily my husband is coming too so he’ll kind of be distracted x

If your husband is coming then that totally changes things! He can hold DS and if DS really kicks off then he can step out with him or set his videos up. I bet he won't kick off though. DD came along to one of my scans before and she loved it - DH held her so she could see the screen and watch what the sonographer was doing, it's interesting for them as long as they feel safe. DD would not have liked it if DH wasn't there to hold her.

Check the place allows kids in. And do prepare what you’ll do if you get bad news
