Shoulder Pain - am I overreacting

I’m 38 weeks tomorrow and for the past week I’ve had really sharp shoulder pain just below the shoulder blade of my right shoulder.

Ive heard shoulder pain is a symptom of pre-eclampsia but I’ve had no other symptoms at all - no swelling, consistently low bloody pressure (measured today and all fine), no headaches or blurred vision. I’m therefore sure it’s just the way I’ve been sleeping as I toss and turn a lot, and everything else aches so this is just one extra thing but also, I can’t quite get it out of my head

Anyone have any experience of pre-eclampsia who can settle my worried and just tell me I’m being over the top!

I have a midwife appointment Monday so I’ll mention it to her then but just panicking in case I should be saying something before then

Right side Shoulder pain can indeed be a sign of pre-eclampsia/hellp syndrome. It could also be trapped wind or baby agitating a nerve.

Don't wait until Monday, because it's a pre-eclampsia symptom you need to be checked over ASAP to be safe.

Contact your maternity triage first thing in the morning.
