11/12 weeks and bleeding - experiences?

Hi all,

I am 12+1 today and have been bleeding on and off since Monday. We had sex Monday morning and the bleeding started after that. I have had the odd spots of bright red but it has mostly been pink. There is enough to mark a pad but it’s worse on wiping.

I know that bleeding after sex can be normal but my boobs haven’t been sore for over a week, and today I have noticed they’re really soft where they have been quite solid up until now. The bleeding also sometimes has small stringy bits and I had two tiny clots yesterday, which makes me think that if it was cervical irritation there surely wouldn’t be stringy bits?

Does anyone have any experience of this? I have my dating scan at 3:40 today so I’ll know for sure later but I’m convinced I’ve had a MMC. I just don’t feel pregnant anymore.

Thank you 💐

@MrsB2019x - Awww I just came on to check for an update.
The wait feels forever doesn’t it, I would have had mine days ago if I could.
At least you’ve got a date and it’s not too far away, I can imagine how you’re feeling though.
Are you still bleeding? Mines like a moderate period which I’ve had since Tuesday x

MrsB2019x · 23/02/2024 19:57

Hi lovely @Kate3150 , yeah still bleeding. Definitely more red today and the cramps are ramping up, just like period pains really but a bit worse. I’m convinced I’m gonna go at home over the weekend.
Hope you’ve got things to keep you busy until Monday, I’ll be thinking of you x

How are you doing @Kate3150? I miscarried at home this afternoon 😔

@MrsB2019x ah bless you. Hope it was ok? Will your EPU check you over to check it's complete? So sorry you've had to go through this. Hope you can concentrate on your grieving and recovery process now. Sending a massive hug your way. 💕

It was okay tbh, it wasn’t painful and it was over very very quickly, like 2 hours. But it was a constant flow, so I ended up getting sent an ambulance to go to A&E for blood loss 😩 got home around 11:30 last night and just feeling a bit wiped out today so gonna take it easy. They sent me up to gynae who did a speculum examination (NOT ideal) but he was pretty confident I have passed everything and they did a pregnancy test which was negative too. I’m glad it’s all over and we can try to move on now. Thank you for thinking of me lovely 🩷

@MrsB2019x aw bless you that sounds quite dramatic but in glad it's all done with for you now. The emotional recovery will no doubt take longer but I hope you're feeling as ok as can be. Do you have any holidays or things booked at all? We went to Italy for a week a short while after my MMC and I found it really healing to have a change of pace and scenery. Anyway, hope you can find peace. 💕

@MrsB2019x lots of love 🫶🏻

@MrsB2019x - How are you getting on?
Sorry I’ve been a bit absent, I had a bit of a screen break over the weekend.
My procedure went well this morning, I’m just recovering at home xx

MrsB2019x · 26/02/2024 17:20

Glad everything went well today @Kate3150, hope you have a speedy and smooth recovery 🙏
Things are okay this end, glad it’s all over with just feeling very tired x

@MrsB2019x im pleased to hear you’re doing okay 💜
I feel a bit in limbo today and thinking about the next stage of all this. Maybe I think too much lol but I’m adamant to stay positive x

It’s the best way to be though it’s really hard!
I keep thinking about when we can try again, it’s horrible as I don’t want to feel like I’m replacing this baby but I also want something to focus on. Though the anxiety is gonna be crippling!

@MrsB2019x - Let’s keep in touch and support each other on this.
I agree about the anxiety and for me it takes away any enjoyment in pregnancy. I felt like I held my breath for 9 months when I was pregnant with DS. x

@MrsB2019x - Hey my love, just checking in and seeing how you’re getting on? X

MrsB2019x · 27/03/2024 16:01

Hi @Kate3150 nice to hear from you!

I’m okay thanks, currently on first period since the MC and it is brutal! But kinda glad it’s here and that we can hopefully move on now. How are you doing? X

Kate3150 · 03/04/2024 19:28

@MrsB2019x
I’m sorry to hear you’ve had an awful period, it can be so triggering the first period following a miscarriage.
I remember when I got my period after my first miscarriage, I was a mess, felt so emotional and seeing the blood, just all got too much.
I’m still waiting for my period this time round, it’s been nearly 6 weeks since I had the surgery.
I’m going to give my body a few cycles to calm down and then hopefully try again 🤞🏻 xx

MrsB2019x · 05/04/2024 22:07

@Kate3150 Looking at it now I’m pretty sure it’s not a period. I only had a couple of days break and I’m still bleeding now so it’s been almost 7 weeks pretty much non stop. EPU won’t see me because my tests are negative, the GP has referred me for an ultrasound but apparently the waiting list is a few weeks long :( it’s all preventing me from moving on to be honest.

I hope yours shows up for you soon and you can get back on the TTC train 🤞 the waiting around is just awful!

@MrsB2019x How are you getting on my darling? You must be shattered bleeding for that long, both mentally and physically. X

MrsB2019x · 11/04/2024 18:58

@Kate3150 Thanks for checking in, I’m exhausted! I had an ultrasound done yesterday which has confirmed 23mm of retained products, they want to rescan me within 10 days. I’m pretty annoyed about it tbh as it’s been 7 weeks now, surely 10 days isn’t going to show much difference. But I have to trust the process I guess.
What has confused me is that I got a positive OPK the other day, so my body is obviously trying to do something!
How are you doing? x

OP posts:
Kate3150 · 13/04/2024 11:45

@MrsB2019x - Oh bless your heart, I’m so sorry you’re having to go through all this and another 10 day wait just feels forever doesn’t it.
Are you bleeding quite heavy? Are they hoping the retained products will pass naturally?
I’m doing well thank you, enjoying the nicer weather, being outside more makes me feel so much better xx

MrsB2019x · 14/04/2024 20:27

@Kate3150 Omg yeah getting out in the sun is making a boatload of difference to my mood atm. I’m getting rescanned on Thursday then in for D&C on Friday if there’s been no movement. I’m not bleeding heavy at all at the moment so pretty sure it will all still be there when I’m scanned again! I’m hoping the end is in sight now 🤞

MrsB2019x · 21/04/2024 07:01

@Kate3150 Hi lovely, I had surgery on Friday which went really well. Practically no pain and I’m barely bleeding at all so I’m really pleased! How are you getting on?

@MrsB2019x -How are you feeling now poppet?
What an awful few months you’ve had, I can’t believe it’s dragged on this long for you.
I’m doing well thank you, getting ready to start trying again 🥴 what a rollercoaster of emotions xx
