Hi everyone.

Hoping someone here can give me any reassuring words. I tried writing in a different forum a few days ago. Over 700 read my post but no one responded which didn't help :(

So, I found out I was pregnant at 5 weeks. Shortly after I started feeling a little sick in the afternoon, I was tired and lacking energy throughout the day, I had super sore breasts, shortness of breath, loss of appetite, heartburn sometimes and cramps in my uterus.

This is my first pregnancy and today I'm 11+6. The past few days I haven't really felt pregnant anymore. Almost feel the same as I did before getting pregnant. I don't feel anything happening in my uterus anymore. Only symptoms I still sort of notice is shortness of breath, tiredness and heartburn sometimes. Appetite seems to be getting more back to normal. I haven't been to an ultrasound yet but I have one scheduled for next week. I'm worried I won't see a heartbeat :(

Hey hun. I’m currently 19+1 with my first and don’t feel pregnant. First trimester for me wasn’t too bad, I felt sick but wasn’t sick, was just tired and went off foods. I’m panicking myself but apparently this is all very normal with first pregnancies. I’m ringing my midwife this morning for some reassurance

Emmaev · 22/02/2024 08:04

I’m 12+3 now and I felt exactly the same once 9 weeks hit. Was almost like a new woman. I couldn’t believe all the sickness went just like that. It then came back at 10 weeks. And now again I’m feeling grand (besides some occasional heartburn)

We saw baby yesterday who was happy as anything bouncing away.

When the placenta takes over symptoms do tend to decrease as you get closer to hitting the magical 2nd trimester. I totally understand your anxiety though I had many days before my scan wondering why all my symptoms have gone. But they definitely do fluctuate.

Hope you have a healthy pregnancy

Maybe your placenta has taken over. When this happens you usually start feeling more 'normal'. I remember feeling like I wasn't pregnant anymore and ended up having private scan at 10 weeks just to check all was still ok.

Hi congratulations on your pregnancy!
I am currently 23weeks pregnant and had no symptoms during first trimester and even after 12 week scan if it wasn’t for a bump I still didn’t feel pregnant until I felt little one move around 21weeks!
I was also in the same boat looking for reassurance why I didn’t have symptoms!
Hope this reassures you. I’ve had past losses where Ive had more symptoms than this successfully pregnancy, so show symptoms don’t mean much. just some people luckier than others in feeling ‘good’ during pregnancy.
hopefully when youve been for your scan will help reassure you xxxx

Thanks so much to all four of you for responding to me! 💖Sitting here crying tears of relief haha. I definitely feel better and not so alone anymore now after reading about your experiences. Maybe it indeed is my placenta that has taken over and therefore my symptoms have gone. I'll try not to worry so much now before my ultrasound next week. I wish all of you a healthy pregnancy as well! xxxx

You're at the end of the first trimester and that is totally normal for symptoms to lessen or disappear at that point. Mine faded earlier than that actually and all was fine. The second trimester is meant to be the easiest one in terms of symptoms and comfort so enjoy it while it lasts!

Rosesanddaisies1 · 22/02/2024 09:41

it's very normal to feel more normal at that point, once the placenta takes over.

JRTfan · 22/02/2024 17:06

I am 23 weeks and haven't had any symptoms at all only in last few weeks have I started feeling a bit pregnant with movements and now a few fainting episodes. But from when I found out very early (IVF) I felt no different at all so please don't worry not everyone is sick and/or tired or has cravings.

@MetalFlower3 I could have written your exact post and I'm 11+1, my symptoms have really died down the last few days. I'm trying not to worry as I've read so many others say it's really normal. I had a scan earlier this week as part of NIPT and everything was good despite loss of symptoms. When is your scan? Xx

Starlight11111 · 26/02/2024 09:06

@MetalFlower3 how are you feeling now? Xxx

siobhanmt247 · 26/02/2024 09:33

I'm 11 weeks today and feel completely normal. My bump is also smaller than it was last week so panicking a bit. My first scan is next Monday. Fingers crossed for you
