TMI warning! Blood and poo

I want to apologise because this is going to be graphic. But I’m 11 weeks pregnant. I did a number 2 and I felt constipated so really pushed it out. A little sore but came out. I noticed in the toilet that there was slight red blood colour tinge (not on the poo) but in the water of the toilet so assuming was in the wee.

Did a proper clean up to see if I could find out whether it came from either the wee area or the behind. (Obviously as clean as possible, using different tissues). Both sides showed no drop of blood whatsoever.

I don’t want to freak out but just want some advice because I’ve never seen a drop of blood in the loo unless I’m on my period. 12 week scan isn’t until next week so wanted to hold off with a private scan until then.

Is this normal/happened to anyone??

Do you have a midwife yet? Might be worth getting a urine test to check for a uti, they are very common in pregnancy, I had several that I was unaware of but were picked up on routine tests. Could also be hemorrhoids if you were straining...another joy of pregnancy.

I've actually finished a course of antibiotics for a UTI but that finished last week so should be completely gone now. There was no blood in the urine that I could see though.

Similar happened to me quite recently; I'd strained so hard I'd basically tore my bum a little.

Nothing serious and never bled from the area afterwards or since ... just had blood as the poo was finally coming out.

I also reckon it's a bum tear. Xx

tmi but I often have blood when I wipe after a bowel movement its anal fissures, but after 1 or 2 wipes there's no blood on the tissue there very quick quick little bleeds it seems after a bit of a dry poo basically, I think mine are from dehydration lack of fibre etc! ive had lots of test done aka poo samples etc and its just Anal fissures
im 24 weeks now and it still happens occasionally

I had this around about 11 weeks too. Never happened again and I’m 27+3 now. My midwife said it was potentially a haemorrhoid and gave me some lactulose to help with the constipation.

Happened again this morning. This time dark red and found came from bottom. Much more painful this time. So will talk to midwife.
