Anyone else had a baby measuring with a bigger head????

My baby is showing as 98th percentile for head.

My partner has a big head and was mentioned when he was a baby 32 years ago.

So it could be genetics, and I'm worried waiting for my midwife to contact me back.

It was done at a private scan....

Do you have growth scans with the NHS? If not, they may want to begin them to keep an eye on it but it's not uncommon for babies to have larger heads and the scan measurements can be as much as 30% out so they usually monitor the growth on a curve to see if they're growing in line with the centile or jumping around which can indicate more of an issue.

Please don't worry at this stage. My first baby was 95th centile for pretty much everything and came out weighing nearly 10lb. She's a 5ft6 size 10 teenager now with a normal size head.

It'll be just a large head, just down to genetics. Large heads run in my family, dd1 was born with a head on the 95th percentile and my nephew has just been born the same. Both look totally normal btw, just larger heads 😃 also scans are awful at giving accurate measurements so does t actually mean it is actually that large. Try not to worry 😁
