Hello,

Ive come away with my partner to Egypt and I’m 12 weeks pregnant. I think I’m allergic to the bed sheets (3rd night here) and I’ve come up in hives all over me. It’s definitely worse at night but still there during the day and short of flying home I’m not sure what to do.

ive taken antihistamines, put on moisturiser and tried sleeping in clothes but its keeping me up at night.

thought it might be bed bugs but my partner has nothing on him.

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Bed bugs often just target one person.

but I am always allergic to the hotel sheets and towels. I bring my own. I do not travel light.

for a short-term solution, I’m not sure what to recommend.

Going to a store and buying sheets might fix your problem if you have never had it before.

You may just be reacting to the particular soap the hotel uses. The downside is you will be sleeping on unwashed new sheets to which you could potentially have an even bigger reaction so it is a gamble.

you could take the hotel sheets to a laundromat and wash them without any soap. But you could still react to any residue left by previous users of the multi-use machines so it’s another gamble.

if you can’t tell, I have really bad allergies and extremely sensitive skin.

Are you sure it's not heat rash?
