Hi everyone
I had a miscarriage in September at 6weeks. So my anxiety levels after falling pregnant again in December were e never going to be low. I had an early scan just before 8 weeks. All good and measured ahead. I then had brown discharge on and off so had another private scan at 10 weeks as EPU weren’t concerned. Private scan all good again and still measured ahead that was on Saturday (10th).
Last night around 8pm I had a red bleed mixed with discharge. Not anywhere enough to fill a pad but red. I have not had any since and am waiting on my midwife to get back to me but I don’t know if I should just book a private scan again if EPU won’t see me again. My 12 weeks scan is in just under 2 weeks. I hadn’t intended on getting another scan in between thinking it was a bit OTT but now I’m like do I just go
Help

its entirely up to you if it will give you peace of mind
I had red/browny stringy discharge at 10 weeks and 11 weeks , both times they couldnt find a cause for it and said its one of them things

bear in mind , if you are still having sex during pregnacy, it can trigger off a small bleed and cramps in some people

I am currently 22 weeks pregnant after several miscarriages, so completely understand your anxiety!!.
Hope can give you some reasurrance during this pregnancy first trimester I had similar red bleeds mixed with discharge at 6,8 and 9 weeks. EPU scanned me on all of those occasions and everything was fine, saw little heartbeat.
I found the light bleeds came after BM sorry TMI, but defo from vagina.
your cervix is very sensitive during pregnancy!
Hopefully EPU will see you if you tell them about your previous loss and that it bright red now!
keep us updated, sending lots of hope xxx

@CJ3 also pregnant after losses. I had spotting at 8wks and 12wks and thankfully my EPU were really supportive and scanned both times (even though the 2nd was only 4 days before my official 12wk scan!). I then had a small bleed including a couple of clots the week after my 12wk scan which really panicked me. Again, the Women's Health Unit at my hospital were really supportive and got me straight in. No obvious cause for the bleed seen. Their best guess was probably cervix. Like @Em1996 , my little bleeds have all happened after constipation but we're deffo from vagina. I think any straining etc can trigger a delicate cervix. Hopefully that's all it is for you too 🤞🏼🌈💕

Had lots of red bleeds that turned to brown throughout my pregnancy so far and what I’ve realized so far is that no one worries for brown bleeding spotting but will 100% see you if red bleed occurs just to check what’s happening.
just give a call to your local epu I believe on most of them you can self refer.

Midwife will advise you to go to EPAU.

Hi all

Thank you so much for all your replies. I phoned EPU in the end and they said because the bleeding had stopped they wouldn’t bring me in yet but if I had any further red bleeding to call back.
I had previously rang about the brown spotting and mentioned I had had an early scan circa 8 weeks and all was fine and they seem to still be putting a lot of emphasis on that one scan over 2 weeks ago. So now all I can do is wait. Thank you so much though for your replies and your stories.
Ill just have to wait and see how it goes and I’ll maybe think about a private scan
thank you all xx
