Hi,

After some help and reassurance if possible.

I had condom protected sex with a friend of mine on day two of her cycle.

Her period is now 10 days late, we have tested six times with various home tests and all negative.

My friend can have strange cycles after long haul travel, she did travel in October, had a 10 day light bleed in December and was a week late for her January cycle; her normal bleed is three days.

We are both 41 years old.

Given it was protected sex on day two of her cycle, and that we have these negative tests up to and including day 9 post her period due date, am I worrying unnecessarily?

Any thoughts welcome. Thanks

Hi op, by day 2, do you mean she was still on her period?

How long ago did you have sex?

If her period is 9 days late and you had sex say, 26 days ago, The negative tests should be correct (if she has a standard 28 day cycle).

Hi overthinkers

Thanks for your reply.

Yep, she was still on her bleed so to speak and she normally has a 27 day cycle…. We have tested as far as 36 days post the sex and all negative.

Any thoughts welcome 🙏

I would be well surprised if she was pregnant. It would show by now and anyway having sex on day 2 is too far out from ovulation in most of cases.

Very unlikely she is pregnant if tests are still showing negative and like previous poster said day 2 is usually a couple of weeks past ovulation, that coupled with the fact it was protected makes it highly unlikely

If you had protected sex on day 2 and youve tested for 36 days afterwards it's impossible she's pregnant by you

We have done a test this morning so 10 days after her period should have started, and 37 days after sex. It was negative.

She has felt for over a week like it’s about to come…

should we be looking at a blood test to be sure?

@user1480030038 at 37 days after sex, there's no need to keep testing. She's definitely not pregnant
