To Doula or not to Doula?

Hi All,

Wondering if anyone has had any experience with having a Doula during their pregnancy, birth or after birth?

I've read there's lots of benefits to having one, but it obviously comes at a price - as does most things! Would love to hear people's experiences if they have any.

Thanks!

I had a doula for my second pregnancy and birth, and would absolutely recommend.

My first birth was traumatic mainly due to an unsupportive midwife so it was very important to me to have the support of a doula and it was absolutely worth it.

Plus my husband was a bit of a rubbish birth partner but some men are great, might be difficult to tell until it's happening!
