Early pregnancy confusion.

Hi ladies, completely driving myself mad here… so the first day of my last period was 22/12/23 which should make me around 7 weeks and 5 days. i went for an early scan on Saturday which showed a gestational sac only and the machine didn’t auto date it (she said it auto dates at 5weeks and 6 days) so it was earlier than that. her advice was it could be early and I could have ovulated later, am she suggested a re scan in 2 weeks. i took a clear blue Sunday which said 3+, took one today (although it wasn’t my first wee which said 2-3) I’ve had a loss before so this is second me mad! ive had no cramping/bleeding and there was no bleeding visible on the scan. has anyone else been in this situation? Thanks

I am in this situation right now. I went for a scan last week at EPU as I was having pain in my cesearean scar at what should have been 6+3. Only gestational sac, no yolk or fetal pole. They sent me away for 1 week and I am going back today at 2.45. Said I was more like 4 weeks and gave me a leaflet about 'pregnancy of unknown viability'.

I was tracking ovulation and its not possible for my dates to be so wrong.

This week waiting to see what happens has been one of the worst of my life. I have had to take the week off. I am dreading my scan this afternoon.

I have trawled the Internet and it seems in this situation it can go either way, lots of happy stories but also lots where it doesn't turn out ok.

I sincerely hope I can be a happy story today, but I'm trying not to be too attached to the outcome. My mantra this week has been 'this is not the end' and if it doesn't work out I can continue ttc.

The date of my last period was 23/12 so one day before yours.

Oh and I've had no bleeding either and no bleed visible on scan. Just a very small and empty gestational sac.

So scan showed yolk sac now too. Gestational sac was 8mm which puts me at about 5.5 weeks. They want me to go back next week as its still unknown viability until a fetal pole is seen. Still measuring 2 weeks behind which isn't good.

Oh gosh another week of waiting? It’s such a stressful time did they give any hope it could be a positive outcome?

i am in a similar situation as you. Is all okay for you? I had an early scan today and according to my dates, I should be 7 weeks. Yet on the scan I measure are 5 plus 6 weeks .

I'm not OP, but my situation ended in miscarriage confirmed at what should have been 9 weeks. Had surgical management last week.

Hope you're OK. It's such a horrible time getting concerning news at scans, when they're meant to be happy things. Good luck hope it turns out OK.

Unfortunately it wasn’t good news, I went back for my scan 2 weeks later and the gestational sac was flat. I was referred to EPAU has bloods and a day later started bleeding, two days later passed placenta and sac which were bigger than I expected so it’s treated as blighted ovum. Got a blood test next week to check my HCG in 0.
