Two Week Wait is Driving Me INSANE

I think I'm 7/8 DPO today and I've already taken about 54876 tests. On some of them I have convinced myself there's a VVVFL. I'm actually driving myself insane with it, and obsessing over every symptom. Hoping I'm not alone in this? 😅

Anyway, for any like-minded, obsessive, crazy people like me, here are my symptoms so far:
Evening of 3 DPO through to today - cramping/pinching in my lower abdomen and lower back (this has been the most noticeable symptom because my period isn't due for another week)
5 DPO - started with a head cold/sore throat which continues to now.
5-6 DPO - episodes of dizziness/vertigo.
7 DPO (today) - Woke up feeling pretty rough with this head cold - banging headache, generally feeling 'out of it'. Some nausea in the morning. None now as I'm writing this.

Thoughts? ❤
A x

Generally it’s best not to symptom spot. If fertilised you won’t implant until 6-12dpo, then it takes a few days for the hcg to rise enough to show on a test, it’s also the hcg which causes a lot of those early symptoms. So if they were caused by pregnancy you would have a positive test. It sounds more like you’ve got a mild cold.

I totally understand how hard the two week wait is but looking for symptoms can really set you up for disappointment. Try to wait until at least 10dpo before testing

I completely agree, I need to try and keep myself in check and wait longer to test and stop looking out for every symptom Blush

I hated the 2 week wait so sympathise! I think you're too early to be having symptoms though

Yeah I think you're right, I'm probably just so hyper aware because I'm waiting to know! Note to self - stop obsessing 😂

Implantation occurs anywhere between 6-12DPO, from which point it takes couple days for hcg levels to build in the system to test positive, let alone provoke symptoms. So undoubtedly you are in your own head, and wasting money testing.

Good luck either way

How long have you been TTC? I remember in the first month that we were trying I became obsessive and managed to convince myself I was pregnant, and then when I got my period I was so disappointed. After that though it calmed down and wasn’t as bad - some months I thought maybe I was, but it wasn’t obsession to the same degree. When I finally did conceive I didn’t even test until a couple of days past when my period was due because I didn’t think too much about it!

I was obsessed with tests and symptom spotting when we were trying for a year. All symptoms were just signs of my period coming.

The cycle I did get pregnant I had barely any symptoms besides needing to constantly pee. I tested on 10dpo and got a faint positive but nothing before then. As previously stated the earliest you could get a faint positive is probably 8dpo.

Good luck in your 2ww I know how long it feels

Honestly try and make plans for the waiting period. It’s so easy to over think every symptoms. And kindly there is no point taking a test until at least 10 dpo. Better to wait until day AF is due. It will happen when it happens.
