I had symptoms of uti ( just urge to wee more) no pain when weeing
had a sample taken 2 days ago just seen this on nhs app
“satisfactory” when previous urine test said normal
also where it says SEEN when I Google this it says red blood count does this mean blood? And other one means inflammation… so seen these things not exactly normal then is it!!

Anyone help with these results

Hey hun. Your doctor should be calling you to explain these results! Ring them and say you want them explained over the phone, it’s their duty to!

Hollie23m · 08/02/2024 07:45

Buy the looks of it it’s all down it says at the the top no action required so I wouldn’t worry to much

I will absolutely be calling them but I will have to wait probably till Monday for a call if they even let me speak to someone as the receptionists are horrible and since it says satisfactory they just say its fine.. they never ring to explain results really fed up of the worry

but satisfactory isn't normal means there still something not quite right surely when pregnant satisfactory shpudlnt be ok surely this is just the start of a uti

They do not need to ring with satisfactory result. If they rang every patient who had insignificant test results they would be calling upwards of 300 patients a week and have even less appointment time to see anyone.

The rbc count is less than 5 which, according to this hospital lab info, isn’t really significant. Lab reference ranges vary depending on the lab though.

but surely this means the start of an infection

Feeling the need to wee often is very common in pregnancy especially if you are carrying low as baby is putting pressure on your bladder, it’s not necessarily a sign of infection. Low RBC is common in all samples as it’s less than 5 its within the normal range. Again a small amount of epithelial cells are present in urine and that is normal.

Nothing here indicates the start of an infection, you’re not having symptoms of an infection, please try to relax and let this go.

@ejndwejnfk its likely her head putting pressure on your bladder. Unfortunately it could get worse as she gets bigger, you may find you get some incontinence if she still pushes on it. Very common too. Pregnancy is not glamorous. Have you spoken to your midwife about your anxiety? It’s very common and there is support they can give.

Hey Hun, with my son's pregnancy I had constant Utis, one of which led to pain and bleeding (didn't affect him at all, I just panicked at the sight of blood but it was from my bladder and all was ok!)

This pregnancy I jumped at the sign of any UTI just incase. I had a similar result to you on one of my tests, they said they don't like to give antibiotics with this kind of thing as it's so mild your body can deal with it on its own. I would recommend you drinking lots of water to flush out anything that could be there and drinking some cranberry juice, this completely cleared me up when I had similar results. I think they only start antibiotics etc if it's significantly worse. If you feel it gets worse, then of course ask for a retest so it can't lead to kidney infection but with these results I do think you'll be ok to just try flush it out yourself!

I think so, and yeah I will mention it as it is very draining being anxious

Just to put out there, your symptoms are somewhat similar to when I had a kidney stone during pregnancy - red blood in my urine and constant inability to empty my bladder.

It was also accompanied by excruciating pain (which the doctors blamed on excess gas foe a week!!) but that was because I had an enormous stone, a smaller one may not cause the same. Just to bear in mind if you don't get a resolution.

If it is the case the remedy is definitely tk drjnk and drink and drink so hopefully push it out.

ejndwejnfk · 09/02/2024 22:53

oh wow really! im seeing my midwife Wednesday but ive been drinking as much as I can within reason but at my scan the babys head was down so I think its just pressure down there making me feel the fulness of needing to wee even after just going/ needing to go a lot
still no pain when actually going/ any other symptoms so not too worried but I will ask the midwife to dip my wee again Wednesday incase!
