20 week scan, need to repeat. Baby in bad position?

I had my 20 week scan yesterday at 20 weeks exactly, they got most measurements and everything seemed fine.
but baby was lying in a weird position (upside down) they couldn’t see left side of heart and left foot they said what they could see was fine but to come back in 2 weeks to check again.

what if baby is still in that bad position? What if they can’t get the measurements again? Has this happened to anyone? What’s the protocol here?

I had this with my 1st, they had me doing star jumps in the waiting area to try and get baby to move, drinking a really cold drink, coughing.... etc, he didn't budge. Rebooked for a few days later and he had moved, all absolutely fine

Yes I was doing all sorts of movements but he wouldn’t move at all!
fingers crossed my boy does move so they can get those measurements. I’m worried on what the next steps are if he again, won’t move!

thanks for your reply

Exact same happened to me! His little heart was hiding under my belly button! 😂 Went back the next week and it was all good! Pleqse try not to worry!

Yep, happened several times for me. Rarely I got through a scan with any of mine where I didn’t have to do jumping jacks, drink icy water and invariably come back. In every instance baby had moved a hundred times between then and the next scan😁.

Happened at each of my scans in both pregnancies. They never gave up. Once I was in the clinic for 4 hours eating sugar, jumping around, being poked and prodded by different people, etc until they finally got what they needed!

Same happened here. Baby hated scans and wedged his spine right up against the probe. Refused to let them look at his heart but great view of spine and could count vertebrae 😂. Went back 2 weeks later and had moved enough to see what they needed.
