Link between GD and sugar / carb aversion during pregnancy?

Hi, just wondering if anyone else experienced an aversion to sweet treats and carbs during pregnancy and then went on to be diagnosed with GD?
I had a sweet tooth before pregnancy and that changed almost overnight. During my first trimester anything sweet made me feel nauseous, so I avoided sugar. Now I'm in my second trimester it has lessened somewhat, although white bread etc. is making me nauseous too, so we've switched to wholemeal, although I've cut down massively on carbs in general.
I'm at risk of developing GD because of my BMI (overweight category) so I'll be tested in a few weeks time, but just wondering if it's worth mentioning these symptoms to my midwife earlier?
The upside is that I'm eating a healthier diet than pre-pregnancy and have gained very little weight. Insights from anyone who has experienced similar or has some advice would be much appreciated :) I'm a FTM and have been googling GD signs and symptoms nonstop to try and get an answer as to why my palate has changed so drastically!

Funnily enough, yes. I always had a sweet tooth but first trimester and most of second, I went off sweet stuff completely. I did go on to have GD in late pregnancy, but it was easily managed through diet. But I wouldn’t read into it too much. You’re having the test either way.
