Hello. I don't know what I am hoping for but I feel so lost right now. I should be 10+5 weeks pregnant today with my third baby. My first two pregnancies were straight forward. I started spotting and having some cramps around a week ago and rung EPU who told me this is normal and not to worry. Had my booking appointment a few days later and again told not to worry, but obviously I was. I booked a private scan on Saturday when I should have been 10+3. The sonographer saw the baby, but measuring 8 weeks, with no heartbeat and confirmed missed misscariage. I was told they will ring the early pregnancy unit first thing Monday morning (today) who will phone me back.

I am in absolute bits, it has hit me so hard. I flit between sadness, anger and then denial. Maybe I am earlier that I thought and the scan couldn't pick up a heartbeat because it was abdomonal? I know im clutching at straws I'm just really struggling to accept it :( I'm scared of what's to come and what happens next. My two children are older and are unaware so trying to be ok around then is so hard.

@blackpanth sorry to hear about your loss too it really is devastating 💗

I took the tablets yesterday and started bleeding heavy and passing clots about 1pm. By 9pm it had all calmed down. I had some pain but not loads so I'm worried that this can't have been it? And that maybe medical management hasn't worked 😔

@Brookes19 it's hard to say as everyone's experience can be so different. Have epu offered you a follow up scan or anything? I would contact them to let them know you've passed clots etc but not sure if it's over now. They will hopefully offer you a scan to check for any retained products. Apart from anything else it's nice to have that closure and know where things stand. So sorry again for your loss. You're doing really well 💕

Thank you 🩷 the EPU rang me this morning to check in. They said because I was bleeding its probably worked and to take a test in 3 weeks to be sure. I explained that I don't feel I passed anything resembling a sack (not that I really know what I'm looking for) and I'm concerned it's not worked. She was lovely and has asked me to come in for a scan to check. I am sat in the waiting room now but was warned I could be waiting a while. Hopefully it did work and nothing further is needed 🤞x

Aw I'm really glad they took you seriously and offered the scan. Sending you a big hug. My scan after I passed my MMC was quite moving - it was very poignant seeing my empty womb. But it was also reassuring as they were able to check my ovaries and lining and said it all looked healthy and they could see lots of follicles in the ovaries etc. It's a shitty time but you will get through it. I hope the scan can offer reassurance and shows that you passed everything. Mine had got to gestation 7+5 and I never felt completely sure I passed an obvious sack or anything but when they scanned it had all gone. I think maybe sometimes if you've been carrying them a while after the loss things start breaking down a bit etc. 😔 Anyway, I hope it's all done for you and then you can focus on your emotional healing 💕

Thank you @SnookyPook it looks like it's been the same case with me. They scanned and confirmed that I have passed the sac etc and that everything looked clear. She could see something just above my cervix which she is pretty sure is just blood but couldn't rule out a tiny bit of tissue being left. She gave me two more tablets to speed along clearing it but was pretty sure it should all clear without needing anymore intervention. Like you say now I need to focus on feeling better mentally 🩷 x

Just some reassurance for anyone who comes accross this thread going through medical management. I was prepared for alot of pain, which I didn't experience and I think this is why I convinced myself it hadn't worked. However I think I've been quite 'lucky' so try to ignore the horror stories.

@Brookes19 ah I'm so glad for you. I found once the loss was confirmed I just didn't want it all dragging on. Great that you've had the reassurance that it's looking ok. Sending you lots of love as you navigate the next few weeks. 💕

@Brookes19 I'm glad to see the medical management worked for you and it wasn't too bad 🩷 time to look after yourself now x
