Can movements feel like the ocean tide?

16+ 5 days and confused whether I'm experiencing baby movements today or not.
I've been feeling a sensations in my lower tummy below button. I had it since yesterday evening.
Its quite frequent and prolonged. It feels like how I can only describe the ocean, it feels like a tide coming in .
On ocassion once or twice since this morning it felt like the tide was curling , you know like when people are surfing and the tide curls and they ride it.
Does that sound like movement or something else. This is first baby . I've been desperate to feel movement to know everything is OK but wondering if I'm just trying to make myself believe it's movement in hope when it's not

It sounds like Brixton Hicks maybe - 'practice' contractions.

Braxton Hicks - not Brixton!!

Is that something of concern

I feel similar things, mine felt similar to going over a hill and your tummy goes weird. It's just then tumbling about in there. But if they are Braxton hicks it's not a concern.

@Flopsy145 yes it does kinda feel like that , the feeling of pulling and lifting , sightly, perhaps g force i guess when you go over a bump or on an amusement ride but just subtle and rather than my tummy it's in my womb area

It does sound like it could be the sensation of them rolling over or turning. A very poetic description if it is that!

A lot of people don't feel any movement until later though so there's no need to worry one way or the other. I wasn't sure I was feeling movements until 22 weeks.

No, it's completely normal.

My baby moving feels like this sometimes. I also get taps and jabs. The first time I was convinced it was baby was when I saw my stomach move!

No, not at all. I had Braxton Hicks throughout all my pregnancies (and had very easy labours).

I had a lot of Braxton Hicks from early on and had quick labours. I wonder if there is a connection between the two.

@CousinGreg55, yes I've always had this theory too.

I had loads of strong BHs in all my pregnancies and from pretty early on. All my labours and births were quick with no intervention.

I'd get a gold in the womb olympics!
