Period cramps for 3 days 39w3d FTM

Hi everyone

I'm currently 39w3d pregnant with my first and for the last 3 days I've had a constant dull ache really low down in my abdomen just like period cramps, sometimes they are a bit more intense than other times but otherwise they don't come and go in waves as I imagine contractions do, they're kind of just always there.

I've also got a really achey lower back but I haven't lost my mucus plug or had any indication of waters breaking.

Just wondering if anyone else experienced this later on in their pregnancy and how long it took before they went into labour. I never had braxton hicks during my pregnancy, so not really sure if that's what I'm experiencing now.

I never had Braxton hicks, but I did have mild period type pains which was the start of labour. I assumed it was Braxton hicks but turns out it was labour!

Following because I've also had the same! Whenever I sit on the toilet I feel like I'm "due on" and a few times I've just felt a bit periody on and off for a few days. I'm only 36+4 but always been convinced my baby won't wait until their due date! Baby was 3/5 a few days ago but I think they've since moved lower because I can feel their head in my pelvis so much, especially when I walk up the stairs.

Due date is tomorrow and I've still been having period type cramps most days but they're not really anything I could time, and still no other signs yet! The wait continues..

Yes really on and off, I'll have them for a couple of hours and then they'll disappear for a couple of hours, just like being on my period tbh! When I do have them though they're just there, I would be able to time them like a contraction

Mine are lasting way too long and don't go hard like Braxton hicks so maybe yours are very early contractions and mine are just random

They still haven't turned into anything other than cramps so I think I've got a while to go yet!

How exciting, I think this is likely things getting ready to go! Hope your bag is ready. Take a nice bath this evening and try and relax.
