C section haemorrhage

I have a planned C section next week and guess one of the big worries in my mind is uncontrolled haemorrhaging. Partly because I have some unusual anatomy so worried doctors will encounter something they don’t expect as it’s quite rare and I’m at a higher risk of haemorrhage.

Just looking for some stories of anyone who had this, and how it was handled / how you felt?

OP posts:

I though 1.5l/2.6pints seemed a crazy amount! So there’s a lower threshold for “excessive” - fingers crossed I don’t reach this, thanks for the statistics

You have quite a lot of extra blood.
When i had my first i lost 1.2litres!!!!
I read it on myedical notes and was shocked and questioned why i didnt get a blood transfusion, but its very normal. The dr gavea chuckle (not in a mean way) when i protested!

Its normal to be anxious.

I was told there was a 20% chance id need a General anesthetic due to my medical history with my 2nd. The anesthetist had to tinker about a bit but it was textbook and i only lost 0.3l second time around!
These guys are pros, they do it day in day out i had several of the same people from baby no 1 in theatre with me (same hospital and 18m between them) we were jojing the playlist was better second time around as i picked it not my dh
