Hi all,

This is my first pregnancy after TTC from about October last year. I am a little thrown by how late I've finally had a BFP and wondering if anyone has any experience with this or knows why this could have happened?

Last period was 11 - 16 Dec. Ovulation was 24 Dec and we DTD plenty... holidays to celebrate, and all :)

I missed my period in Jan and took a test a few days gone, negative. Waited a week took another and it was negative. Wedding anniversary is 29 Jan and we went out to celebrate the Friday prior, the 26th. Still negative (I tested twice that day... once first in the morning, the other right before we went out because I wanted to be extremely sure as my period was still yet to make an appearance) so I had 3 glasses of wine, plenty of oysters and other seafood (ugh)

Starting yesterday I had heartburn that could kill an entire cow if I breathed directly on it, so I took another test this morning which took about 1 single second to show as very, very positively pregnant. According to my tracker I'm 7 weeks, 5 days.

I've been booked in for an appt this upcoming Tuesday but this is odd right? Could this mean something is wrong? I'll be going mad between now and Tuesday. Any thoughts appreciated xx

Have you taken any more tests? I’d do two more, first thing in the morning using first wee

Honestly, I think you just skipped your Jan period and got pregnant in Jan.

If your last period was 11 Dec and assuming 28 day cycle, your next period was due around Jan 8, and again Feb 5. Ovulation would be roughly Jan 22 or thereabouts so I think you're only 4 weeks, not 7 weeks.

Your doc will tell you obviously though :)

Congratulations!

@Gamechanger2019 I did two more actually the rest of the day with two different brands. Both very rapid positives as well

Skyadelic that sounds far more logical than needing nearly 8 weeks for a positive. I'm 36 and AF has never been particularly regular. Maybe a super late ovulation in Dec??

And thank you! Super excited just trying to wrap my mind around it rn. I thought I was out this month!
