Haematoma success stories?

Hi all, I'm 6 weeks and 5 days and ended up having a scan today at the EPU as I've been having some pain. Baby was measuring perfectly and I saw a little heartbeat which made me so happy but the sonographer said there was a small bleed area so not to worry if I have a bleed. He seemed so nonchalant about it that I didn't even think anything of it. When I went back to speak to the nurse, she seemed to take it more seriously and started telling me how it doesn't necessarily mean I'll have a miscarriage etc etc and now I'm just so worried. I've done some reading and seen some horror stories and I already had two early losses before this pregnancy so I'm just so upset. Please can you hit me with reassuring stories as I've just been feeling depressed and panicking all day.

Hi. I started bleeding at around 9 weeks and having had a loss before assumed I was miscarrying. At the scan they also found a haematoma within the placenta which they said was the cause of the bleeding. They also said if the haematoma was smaller than the baby then it would likely be ok. If it was bigger than the baby then it wouldn’t. In my case the bleed was smaller and that baby is now 7. Hope that helps

My haematoma was twice as big as the baby at 8/9 weeks. I was told to go on bed rest immediately but that I would miscarry. Over 6 weeks it shrunk (lots of bleeding though)

15 now! Tall and clever! Light of my life x

I started bleeding at 6 weeks and assumed the worst. Headed off to EPU and saw little beans heart flickering away.
I bled for a few weeks, but everything was fine 😊

I had hematomas with my 1st pregnancy and my most recent, all was twice the size of the baby and I had HUGE bleeds. Was repeatedly told that any large gush could pull the baby away at anytime both times. By 12 weeks for the first it reabsorbed and with my 3rd it took a bit longer it didn’t go away till 16ish weeks but didn’t actively bleed anymore. Those pregnancies are now 8 years old and 7 months old 🥰🥰

I had a huge bleed at 14 weeks which wasn't spotted on the scan I had two days prior to the bleed. Honestly huge and passed clots, scan showed baby was ok and have had another scan since then showing baby is fine and growing well. It can be scary but I was told it's very common and the Dr didn't seem phased at all.
I'm now almost 17 weeks and bleeding has eased off. The bleed can be more concerning depending on the location so if they didn't seem concerned with it then I wouldn't worry 💙 for peace of mind perhaps carry some pads and a change of underwear with you. Hopefully yours gets reabsorbed and you don't have a bleed at all ☺️

Thank you all so much, you've made me feel a lot better. I also spoke to my own mum who said she had the same thing with both me and my sister and we're both alive and well so it must be quite common, it's just so scary ❤️

My friend has bleeding throughout the first trimester due a SCH, she said it was so anxiety inducing but her daughter is now 2.

Sending love OP, I had one episode of bleeding in early pregnancy and that was stressful enough
