Hair dye during pregnancy

Any thoughts?

Have a wedding party this weekend and I've had quite a few Greys popping through as haven't coloured my hair in 16 weeks since getting pregnant so I coloured my hair. Now I'm quite worried as it was mentioned to me and she didn't seem impressed I'd coloured my hair while pregnant.
I usually use a semi permanent hair dye . Does anyone think this is unsafe.

I thought since it didn't have peroxide and lasted for so many washed it wouldn't be as bad but she seemed horrified now it's left me concerned should I have avoided it and should I avoid foe the rest of my pregnancy

I believe it's ok but make sure you do a patch test as allergies can change when you're pregnant

Its fine to dye your hair in pregnancy. Your hair can react differently and your skin can be more sensitive but it's not harmful to your baby

It's absolutely fine to dye your hair in pregnancy, I had mine done twice, with bleach. You just have to do a patch test as the hormones can make you react differently. It can also affect how the dye turns out

I avoided it in the first 12 weeks with my first and have done the same in this pregnancy - just out of worry really, rather than any specific knowledge. I’m 16 weeks now and planning to dye my hair soon. I also use a semi permanent dye. I did it a couple of times with my first, who was a super healthy, average weight baby.

There is no harm to your baby from dying your hair. The only issue is potentially having a reaction as your skin can be more sensitive during pregnancy so patch tests are important.

Also used a semi permanent box kit but tried to delay as long as possible so I wasn't in the first trimester. There's one that doesn't use ammonia and claims to be more natural, so I used that!

I asked the hairdresser for the official stance and she said it needs to not get into the blood stream to cause issues and that's highly unlikely, but the smell bothers me too tbh which is why I went for the most natural one I could find. She also said always do the allergy test!

I dyed my hair throughout pregnancy (probably not in the last 6 weeks though) and was absolutely fine.
