I know this isn't very accurate, so taking with a pinch of salt! She does feel like a biggun though this time !
AC is still on 97th percentile, been tested twice for GD and I don't have it. So maybe just a big baby ? Anyone else have a big bellied baby ?

Makes me wonder though as my last pregnancy we had the exact same percentile for baby, 97th, that time I did have GD though.

I just had a scan at 36+3 and my baby is 91st centile, weight they've given is 7lb7. No gd here either, just a big baby! Got another scan at 38+3 in case he goes right over the line, and scheduled section booked at 39+3 due to baby being breech.
My daughter was 8lb5 when she was born at 40+1 so seems likely this boy will be bigger.

My first was measuring 98th centile and was born 8lb 14oz at 38+0. I do have type 1 diabetes (rather than GD) but my blood sugars were well controlled throughout my pregnancy so most of the doctors seem to think he'd have been big even if I didn't have diabetes!

I did have a planned c-section due to his size, but that was basically because I was offered the choice of induction at 37 weeks or c-section at 38 due to my diabetes and I didn't fancy the risks of early induction with a potential big baby. If I'd have gone into labour naturally I was going to try a vaginal birth.

My DD was measuring over 7lbs at week 36, she was born 38 weeks at 9lbs6.5oz 😂 love me a bigun 😍

Oldermum84 · 31/01/2024 13:44

I did have GD and growth scan at 38 weeks said baby was 7lb8. Born at 39+1 at 6lb15.

If I were you I'd just go on the GD diet anyway...?

Oldermum84 · 31/01/2024 13:45

Oh and my belly was huge! (Second pregnancy).

LittleRobins · 31/01/2024 13:50

I was told my baby had a huge belly in all the scans and he was going to weigh nearly 10lbs. Had a negative GD test too. I was booked in for an induction due to his size but baby came by himself the day after his due date weighing a very average 7lb 5oz. Apparently some babies bend over more if that makes sense in the womb making the circumference reading inaccurate.

fishfingersandtoes · 31/01/2024 13:54

My first was born on the 97th centile, went up to 99.6+ very rapidly and stayed there. He's now a 6 foot 6 (and overweight unfortunately) 15 year old. I didn't have GD either.
Maybe you're going to have a lovely giant like I do. He's very good for carrying heavy shopping and reaching to top shelf 😁

Well it's probably a bit too late for that ! I've well and truly indulged this pregnancy, last time was miserable !! It might be an idea to do it after the birth though to shift the weight lol

Haha sounds useful !! My ds is a very tall 10 year old, his dad is 6.2 and he's definitely going to be taller than him, so I may have one already in the making 😆

Yes, my dd was apparently a whopper, she was a normal 7.6lbs hence being a little dubious, but this one does feel heavier, but maybe im just knackered now !!

hmm I was overdue when they realised my baby was big- I remember having the fundus measurement at 32 weeks and it measured 36 and my midwife laughed and said it was a mistake. By the time I was checked again I was over due by 8 days and fundus measured at 48 weeks, had a C section at 40 weeks plus 12 days and my son was 11lb 4. They initially estimated 10lb 6. These measurements are guides and not always accurate

Starrysky812 · 31/01/2024 20:21

I measured big throughout my pregnancy and after 2 growth scans, I was offered induction at 37 weeks. Decided to hang on as I was so desperate for things to happen naturally. DD was born at 40+6 and was 8lbs 15oz. Not tiny, but certainly not the 10+ pounder that they were anticipating! These scans are definitely not always accurate xx
