Relaxing in the early days?!

Help. I have gone through 2 mc and have dd1 after 3 pregnancies. I am now about 8 weeks through preg4 and spending most of my time panicking about every little symptom. How are you supposed to relax when the body has previously played such tricks. I am convinced that I am about to miscarry again despite seeing the heartbeat on a scan. I am quite definite on the dates of my LMP but the scan dated it a week later than I thought. Does this mean it is not growing as it should?

I totally understand how you're feeling having had a couple of miscarriages myself. The feeling of panic can be quite overwhelming can't it.

I had a scan at 7 weeks and then one at 9 weeks and both were measuring 4 days later than I thought which, of course, made me worry (even though they told me it was fine!). I've just had a scan at 12 weeks and my due date has been brought forward again by 3 days, so I don't think a few days here and there is anything to worry to much about.

I don't think the dates based on your LMP take into account of the fact that you might have a longer cycle, or ovulate later than the 14 day standard or it could just have taken a while to implant.

Remember, once you've seen a heartbeat, the chances of miscarriage are greatly reduced. Have you got another scan booked soon to reassure you? I don't think I could have got through the first 12 weeks if my hospital hadn't been so understanding.

Good luck!

I was sure of my LMP and knew we hadn't had sex post about day 16 of cycle. I had some bleeding at six weeks and they couldn't find a heartbeat and said the baby was showing about 5 weeks. I was sure something was wrong. I had a scan at 8 weeks and they saw the heart beat but put it at 7 weeks, then my 12 week scan put my due date back 6 days!
At your 12 weeks scan you will be able to see if your baby is growing relative and then it'll be fine.
I'm always regular so I have no idea what's happened. Be curious to see when the baby actually comes!!

Thanks for your replies. I think I was just having a bad day on Thu so feeling rather emotional. I am feeling better today. A couple of people have commented that I am blooming and the bump has grown so feeling positive today.
My next scan is booked for 18th April, seems a long way off at the moment.

Unfortunately I was not quite as neurotic as I thought. I had a missed miscarriage and ERPC last week. Good luck to you all with yours.
