I’m 18+2 and for the past 3 days have been suffering with really bad headaches. Only on my left side but they feel like a lot of pressure on my head and nothing is helping. Any advice? I have been to the GP who wasn’t very helpful and just said keep an eye on it

i get this with every pregnancy and get prescribed amtripalyne (it’s definitely not spelt like that 😂). works amazing. mine is always second trimester only anyway so i use them for a few weeks and then it’s all good x

i should add i do also have gestational diabetes though and im not sure if its linked or totally separate but worth keeping an eye on!

@strawberryswizzler the pain is so hard to cope with! :( it’s so painful and paracetamol doesn’t touch it

My midwife specifically asked me at 17 weeks if I had headaches (routine type question) I had been and she said it was very common around that gestation. Mine weren't that bad though.

If you're worried I would contact your midwife.

@bettynutkins i did have headaches earlier in the pregnancy in the 1st trimester but nothing as bad as this. This pain is at the side of my head on the left side and there’s a lot of pressure there, I had my blood pressure done at the GP which was fine, I wouldn’t want to waste the midwife’s time as I seem the GP today

Mine were awful from 15-19 weeks. Thought it was because I went out in the cold weather, had an alcohol free beer, used hairspray 😂 it was definitely hormonal and all gone now thankfully.

What helped me was plenty of water and I used a scalp massager to try and release tension.

Speak to your midwife

I did actually speak to the midwife’s but they told me at 18 weeks you need to speak to your gp.. which I already have done
