Splenectomy scar and pregnancy

Hi all, around 6 years ago my wife had a splenectomy and she has a horizontal scar across her abdomen and it goes mostly all the way across. She is 12 weeks pregnant right now. Are there any concerns of her growing tummy with a healed abdomen scar? TIA

She should ask her midwife or doctor not random laypeople on the internet?

Well of course that is a question we are asking at our next appointment. I just wanted to know if anyone had similar experience, I don't think asking if anyone being in acquaintance with a similar situation and wanting to know their outcome is a bad thing to do?

It's six years healed, it will be more than fine. It might get itchy as it stretches, but won't be anything to worry about. The only scars of concern in pregnancy are any on the uterus itself.

I’m almost at the end of my second pregnancy having had a similar abdominal surgery 10 years ago. It’s caused me no real problems but I have to be really strict about using maternity oil to moisturise as the bump gets bigger otherwise the itching on the scar site is horrible. I like the cowshed maternity oil (but I mix it with a general body moisture to help with application) and when I use it every day the itching isn’t a problem at all :)
