Help! Is this a evap line or a positive?

Previous tests I’ve done was negative apart from one which was a very very light shadow which only I could see. I normally come on my period beginning of the month, last month i thought it was my period but it was lighter and shorter and didn’t end brown or heavy just little dots down the toilet and abit of brown blood? I’ve had thick gooey like discharge, fatigue, aches and pains, become light headed if I’m cleaning the house or rushing around. Constipation & gassy. Few little switches like shooting pains and flutters but thinking it could just be wind? Also feel like I’m getting stretch marks & blue veins are showing more at times. I know my body and I know something isn’t right but I don’t want to get excited if not true. A couple of days before I bleed I had morning sickness for 4 days and randomly stopped. HELPP!!

Hey ! How many days past ovulation are you ?

HannahHX · 28/01/2024 18:26

@Ilovebees i don’t really know because my periods have only been regular the last year so I’ve never kept an eye on it

I’d say evap

HannahHX · 28/01/2024 18:40

@Wanderingthroughparenthood im in 2 minds because it’s a blue line, not grey or clear

I would also say Evap to be honest , it seems quite thin , the line :(

HannahHX · 28/01/2024 18:47

Oh ok just wanted some opinions

@HannahHX I would defanetly test again tomorrow morning or whenever you can with first morning urine , you never know , it might get darker and thicker :)

PickledScrump · 28/01/2024 20:23

Clearblue are notorious for these lines when negative, there’s loads of posts about them. Get a decent pink dye test and use first morning urine. Stretch marks aren’t usually something that appears until later on in pregnancy. The other symptoms could be a number of things like hormone inbalance or vitamin deficiencies.

Boots own brand early results test is really good if you want an accurate test. If you’re period is normally the beginning of the month then you might be too early to get a positive yet. If you’re thinking that the last one was implantation bleeding then you would expect to see a very strong dark line by now so that seems unlikely.

Hiddenvoice · 28/01/2024 20:26

I’d test again in a couple of days . When I tested early I had a very faint thick line and but the edge of the thick line was darker and looked a lot like your test.
It’s hard to tell as a lot of people get Evaps with clear blue. Did the line come up within the timeframe?

HannahHX · 28/01/2024 20:27

@PickledScrump hi, thank you. I have never had any of these symptoms before and seeing a faint positive and a thin coloured line and the fact I’ve never had evaporation line when I’ve tested before just made me abit over whelmed I think. I also have polycystic ovary’s and I’m on anti depressants could be why it isn’t showing properly yet?

The line is thin which usually means evap. Positive lines are wide.

HannahHX · 28/01/2024 21:13

@Hiddenvoice i will test again in a couple of days. Thank you. And it didn’t so I put it aside had a look at it a few hours later and the line was there but over time it’s got darker. I just wanted to see if anyone else maybe has had this kind of thing happen to them?

@HannahHX I sadly wouldn’t count it then if it came up outwith the timeframe, it seems likely that it’s one of clear blues annoying evap lines.
Id try a Boots early detection test instead and hopefully you’ll get a clearer result. I know it’s tempting to keep the tests once you’ve done them, I always did, but please bin them once the timeframe is over. I’ve had so many Evaps and they can honestly be heartbreaking.

HannahHX · 28/01/2024 22:05

@Hiddenvoice I will do another test next week, I would have my period the start of the month so fingers crossed. I just can’t help but keep testing. It certainly is heartbreaking x

@HannahHX anti depressants and PCos won’t affect showing a positive result. I’ve just seen you left the test after the time frame which unfortunately means it was likely an evap. Once the time limit is reached it’s really important to throw them out for this reason.

Do you know the date your next period is due. Realistically you wouldn’t expect to see anything more than 2-3 days before your period is due. Ovulation occurs around 14 days before your period give or take a day, then implantation takes 6-12 days after ovulation. Then it takes another few days for hcg to rise enough to show on a test. Hcg is also what causes the pregnancy symptoms so if you are getting symptoms you would expect to see a positive test.

HannahHX · 14/02/2024 19:43

Just an update… STILL no periodddd i am now 10 days late if my implantation bleeding was a period 😬

Have you taken anymore tests?

IslayAnn · 14/02/2024 20:44

Have you done another test? Should get a proper line by now if pregnant

Olika · 15/02/2024 07:54

How old are you? Could this to do with nearing menopause?
