Can you request an induction after ECV?

Got a scan on Monday (37 weeks) to confirm if baby has moved and if not it's a plan from there. I spoke with my community midwife yesterday who said it seems pretty fair for me to request an induction after an ECV (if I opt for one).

Have you done the same and had this approved?

My boy is measuring big and I have polyhydramnios.

You can refuse the ECV and request a section.

You can request a section even if there is no medical need.

I was told that consultants will often recommend an induction if the ECV is successful, OP. It depends on their level of confidence on baby staying put - 99% of babies do stay in the same position after 37 weeks but there may be other factors. I think it's entirely reasonable to request one.

Fortunately my baby had turned so didn't have to have that discussion. I hope yours has too.
